Know More about this tour

Start your experience with a pickup at your centrally located Budapest hotel, and enjoy the scenery as you travel into Hungarys unspoilt countryside.

After roughly 30 minutes on the road, arrive at Gdllo Palace, the graceful Baroque mansion that was the summer residence of Queen Elisabeth, otherwise known as Sisi, and Franz Joseph I, the Hapsburg Emperor and Hungarys king from 1848 until 1916. Set in magnificent gardens, the 18th-century palace was presented as a gift to the royal couple who came here to relax and hunt.

Explore the park-like gardens and then head inside with your guide. Admire the Grand Hall resplendent in gold and white, see the ornate orangery, and visit Sisis private suite, still painted in her favorite violet color. Your guide will bring everything to life as you walk, with tales of the couples secret lovers, hidden doors and the Empress passions for travel and horseriding.

Next, continue through picturesque countryside to a traditional Hungarian farm. When you arrive, sip a welcome glass of Hungarys national drink of plinka (plum brandy) and enjoy some pogcsa the countrys beloved savory scones. Then, climb onto a traditional horse-drawn carriage to clip-clop around the farms pathways and rolling fields.

Afterward, watch a horse show with traditionally dressed riders, featuring everything from carriage races, whip cracking and daredevil equestrian skills.

When the time comes, drive back to Budapest where your experience ends with a drop-off in the city center.

Pick up and drop off locations were good. The professional tour guide Marta S. was excellent, hospitable, excellent knowledge of Hungary history and literature, good command of English, I should recommend Marta to any one travel to Budapest. The Lazar Equestrian Park performances were excellent and I give 10 out of 10 ! Thank you Viator.

Beautiful horses, great show, farm needs tidying, but overall enjoyable. Would recommend for people to go and see.

Short drive from Budapest to Godollo, nice summer palace then a even shorter drive to Lazar horse farm for a horse show and carriage ride. (More like a hay ride). The Museum and specially the trophy room is impressive.

This was our favorite tour in Hungary. The Palace tour was quick but really covered all we would want to see. The farm was wonderful and the horse show truly amazing. We had plenty of time to look around. Don't miss this great day trip.

I had a 5-hour tour along with another American couple with our guide Marta to Godollo. Marta is simply fantastic, a living history book of Hungary. She was the driver/guide. On the way out of the city, she pointed out so many interesting buildings and told so many stories. Then we got stories about the Soviet era in Hungary before the fall of Berlin Wall and her personal experience in this terrible time. Once we were inside the castle, she had an interesting story on almost every ordinary looking object that I would normally quickly walk passing by. I learned so much about Sissi's life and Hungarian history in general from her. Afterwards we had a very entertaining local horse show 10 mins down the road don't miss this one either. I absolutely enjoyed my time with Marta. She is so caring and considerate that she offers additional/essential information other tour guide wouldn't bother to tell. Thanks a lot Marta!

What a very pleasant way to spend 5/6 hours in Budapest. I thoroughly enjoyed this outing. I was collected by a taxi at my hotel and driven in to town to meet our guide for the day. There was only two of us on this trip. Myself and another young lady named Megan from the USA. Our guide/driver was Marta and she was wonderful. She was such a nice, kind lady. Her knowledge of local history and storytelling was wonderful. The tour of the Palace was interesting and very informative. We had time to sit enjoy a cuppa and a slice of traditional cake which was yummy! Onward to the Horse Show. This was again great to see. The horsemanship and show was magnificent. We also got to taste a local drink down the hatch in one!!... and a traditional savoury scone. We then toured the stables and a museum. Marta then, very kindly dropped us off wherever we wanted. I would highly recommend this tour.
