Know More about this tour

Start your day with a hotel pickup from central Tel Aviv, and then travel north to Golan Heights, the mountainous region and national park in northern Israel. Golan Heights lies some 112 miles (180km) from Tel Aviv, so – to break up your journey – enjoy a couple of photo stops along the way.

Ogle the views from the vantage point of Megiddo, where successive ancient settlements were built on top of each other, and then stretch your legs at Yarendit, the sacred baptismal site on the banks of the Jordan River.

Your first stop is the Hammat Gader, hot springs on the edge of the Syrian and Jordanian border, where you’ll stop for photos. Then, continue to the village of Katzrin to admire its sights on a walking tour. Though it's considered as the capital of Golan Heights, Katzrin is actually a Talmudic (ancient Jewish) village with incredible ruins scattered all around.

Visit Katzrin’s synagogue, and admire the remains of the 6th-century building that still features some original decorative details. Look out for ancient Hebrew inscriptions on the ruins of the synagogue’s original walls and columns as you walk around.

After a break for lunch (own expense), travel by coach to the top of nearby Mount Bental – one of Golan Height’s extinct volcanoes. Towering above the Golan plateau, the mountain lends itself to breathtaking views over Quneitra Valley in Syria. Pose for photos against the valley backdrop, and then start your journey back to Tel Aviv.

Your day trip finishes with a hotel drop-off in central Tel Aviv in the early evening.

  • An extraordinary tour and opportunity to see half of Israel. Our guide,Eliezer, is very knowledgeable and happy to share his experiences. I learned so much about the history and background to many of the conflicts in the area. I can really recommend this tour and Eliezer. Definitely a must when in Israel.

  • Once again I would suggest better vehicle maintenance...we had issues from our first prolonged rest stop...with the driver-guide on the phone for very extended periods trying to remedy the situation. Our van finally died near the end of the tour at a stop above the Sea of Galilee. We waited close to 3 hours for a ride back to Tel Aviv...and missed the last place listed on the tour. Also the tour had listed a hot springs but when our guide was asked by other tourists about it, they were told it was not on this tour..puzzling as we had seen it listed as well. The tour did seem a bit rushed probably because of all the delays. It was a great tour however because it was both emotional and informative. We saw the borders and the topography and gained a powerful realization of Israel's amazing existence and of the constant vigilance needed to maintain it. We really liked our guide.

  • the tour with Levy Avishay was awesome! this guy really knows a lot about Israel! i highly recommend taking a tour with him

  • Fantastic day! Itamar is the best guide and driver.

  • This tour was amazing!

  • loved the guide

  • It was really nice to have only three people the minimum necessary for the tour to operate on this tour. As a result we had a more intimate tour. Our guide was excellent. We visited the talmudic village of Katzrin to see the ruins. Then we climbed to a lookout over the border and we were able to chat with the UN peacekeepers stationed there. It was interesting to visit a lesser known part of Israel. If you want to get off the beaten path, this tour is for you.

  • Very good tour guide with lots of great stories. I think the trip was well worth the money!
The only negative about the trip was the restaurant at the Sea of Gallile this company seems to have an agreement with. The food there was really medioker no flavours at all at 80 NIS.

  • We enjoyed visiting the Golan again after eight years. Our tour leader Isaac was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
    Thanks for a great experience
