Know More about this tour

Enjoy a well-paced Golden Circle tour followed by a soak in a geothermal lagoon.

The day starts with acomplimentary pick-up from hotels and guesthouses inthe greater Reykjavik area. Pick-up starts at 10am and once all guests have been collected, the tour will leave Harpa, music and conference hall in downtown Reykjavik at approximately 10:30am. Our coach size depends on the number of passengers booked onto the tour, but it could be a 16 seater coach or a bigger coach with 50 seats.

We start the tour in ingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park where the Eurasian and the North American plates are slowly drifting apart. You can actually walk down one of the rifts that has been formed as a result of the drift. From there wedrive past Laugarvatn over to Geysir where we'll stop for a short lunch (own expense) and a walk around the geothermal area where the hot-spring Strokkur spouts water up to 20 meters in the air (65 ft).

The next destination is Gullfoss waterfall in Hvt river which is made up of melt-water from the glacier Langjkull, the second largest glacier in Iceland. You'll then end the day with a delightful soak in the warm water of the Secret Lagoon in Flir. The lagoon is the oldest pool in Iceland and filled with geothermal water that flows from the nearby hot springs. The water temperature is prettycomfortable (38-40C / 100-104F). The entrance fee and use of a towel are included in the tour price. From the lagoon we then head back to Reykjavk across Hellisheii heath.

The tour includes short, relatively easy walks on the sites visited. We recommend that you dress warmly because the weather in Iceland can changevery quickly.

  • This tour was amazing!

  • amazing day out, but viator take a large cut of the price if you book through them. So book before you go to guarantee your place and pay well over the odds, or wait till you get their to get good price but it might be fully booked although their are lots of company's running trips.

  • I really wish that I could have given this tour 5 stars, but could just have easily given it 3 stars.

GOOD: Ample time at each of the four stops. Beautiful scenery. A great way to see many of Iceland's wonders. Bus was newer, clean, and the driver was very good.

NOT SO GOOD: Bus came very late to pick us up almost 45 minutes because of a misunderstanding between guide staff and their administration. The guide seemed agitated for most of the trip. Not really all that friendly. Long stretches of time of silence. I think he could have begun the tour talking about Reykjavik as we drove through it, but we didn't pay for that so we didn't get it.

OVERALL: I would recommend, but keep your expectations about service in check.

A SUGGESTION: The bathroom on the bus was not functional I read this in other reviews-- guess they are not ever going to fix it. Only one place do you need to pay to use the WC-- the National Forest. If you can, hold yourself for the free facilities at Geysir. Also, remember to bring flip-flops for the Lagoon. We brought a bathing suit and they provided the towel, but many of the patrons had something on their feet as they walked through the locker room/showers-- good idea.

  • I would highly recommend this tour, we had a fantastic day, great guide, and finished the day with a swim at the secret lagoon. The day was wonderful.

  • This tour was good although I would have preferred to have longer at each of the sites especially the tetonic plates as were only given half an hour and this was not enough to take it all in and have a proper explore. The geysers and waterfalls were amazing but again, I would have preferred to have a little longer at each but understand that there has to be time constraints in order to fit it all in. The secret lagoon was fantastic - here, I think we had just about the right amount of time. We had an hour and half and that was just enough to relax in the warm and sometimes very hot! waters. All very good, the guide was informative and everything ran to plan!

  • This was an amazing trip we were lucky to have a fantastic driver and guide loved the secret lagoon perfect end to an amazing day

  • The enjoyment of the tour definitely is weather dependent. We had beautiful sunshine the day before our tour in Reykjavik but rain and wind most of the day of our tour, which ruins the ability to take pictures out of your bus window and for enjoying the sites. Also it's a long ride to the first stop in the national park to view where the Eurasian and American Plates are separating. The toilet was out-of-service in the bus and you have to pay to use the facilities at the national park. The second stop was at a large restaurant/souvenir shop adjacent to a geyser field, but it was pouring when we got there. I got a great picture of the big geyser in the bathroom where a large shot of it is on the wall. Also the place was packed due to a cruise ship being in port at Reykjavik. The rain did stop when we arrived at Gullfoss Waterfall, which is awesome and more spectacular than Niagara Falls. We also enjoyed soaking at the secret lagoon and the facilities and services were really nice. Overall, the tour was worthwhile in lieu of the rain and wind.

  • The tour was excellent. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. There was some unnecessary confusion about the pickup place, and we nearly missed the van entirely. We received an email before our trip, saying that the van is no longer able to pick up at our hotel, and we were directed to wait at a public bus stop a block away, which we did. The tour guide/driver, however didn't get that email. He waited for us at our hotel and finally gave up and left. We saw him cruise past the bus stop and chased him down the street, waving our arms. That dropped one star from our review.

  • What fantastic views of Iceland, long day but worth every moment. You finish the trip at the secret lagoon, bath in warm (HOT) water while the snow gentle falls on top of you, amazing!!

  • Pickup was a bit stressful as they got our location wrong. Make sure to confirm with the agency the day before the time and location where you'll be picked up. Dress warmly as during our tour we got rain, snow, and even a bit of hail. All of the sights were amazing and it was wonderful to soak in the Secret Lagoon.
