Know More about this tour

This Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Hot Springs Adventure starts with a pick up from your accommodation in Reykjavík before heading to Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National Park, the first attractions of the iconic Golden Circle. Here natural wonders meet rich history, making up one of the most fascinating attractions in Iceland. Þingvellir National Park lies in a rift valley that marks where the 2 tectonic plates are moving apart. Here you can also find Althing, the first national parliament of Iceland, the Silfra Fissure, Almannagjá rift and many more. After exploring this UNESCO world heritage site you will make a stop by Faxi waterfall before heading towards Geysir hot spring area.

Explore the bubbling hot springs and geysers of this phenomenal geothermal field and make sure not to miss the spouting Strokkur before heading to the 3rd and last attraction of the Golden Circle: Last but certainly not least is Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. Gullfoss lies in the canyon of Hvíta River, with all of its wonders this site alone attracts thousands of visitors every year. With water plummeting down 32 meters the waterfall offers spectacular views of the natural forces of Icelandic nature.

Before heading back to your accommodation in Reykjavík we'll stop by at the Secret Lagoon Hot Springs for some nice and relaxing time to soak in the natural hot pool of the Secret Lagoon.

  • We enjoyed our golden circle tour and the secret lagoon hot springs. It was a fun day and the sites we saw were all very worthwhile. We also really loved our guide, Yannis, who was informative, patient, and overall knowledgeable about the history and geology of the sites we visit. The reason I'm giving 3 stars - and maybe it should be lower - is because we signed up for a tour that was supposed to be small group and it was supposed to be 9 hours, with an 8:00 but possibly delayed until 8:30 pickup. In actuality, they combined our tour with another tour group that signed up for an 11 hour golden circle plus rafting trip. We were picked up a little after 8:30 and ended up getting back to Reykjavik at 8:15 - so closer to 12 hours. And the rafting group was an additional 10 people - so it was sort of a small group tour but larger than we expected, and it was definitely NOT a 9 hour tour. To make matters worse, we had made dinner reservation at Fish Market for 8 PM, had to move it to 8:30, showed up in our ratty clothes and holding wet bathing suits, and finished dinner around 11 PM. This could have all been avoided if the tour company delivered what was described in the brochure and on the website. Oh, and we had a 30-40 minute drive to drop off the rafting group at their rafting site and then another 30 minute trip back to pick them up. So the 12 hour trip wasn't all site seeing. SO - to recap - we had a very nice day with a great guide but were stressed about the time - which all could have been avoided if the tour company were more up front and honest about exactly what we signed up for!

  • I would highly recommend this tour. I only had two days in Reykjavik and this tour allowed me to see many places that I did not have to navigate on my own. We did the hot springs first before the crowds arrived, had a bonus stop at Faxi Falls, then on to Gesir, Gulifoss and Thingvellir National Park. We were in a smaller van and that was great rather than a huge bus with lots of people. Our guide was great. It is a very full day with lots of driving but so worth it! Exceeded my expectations.

  • Made sense doing both in one day. Our guide, Finn, was funny and made sure to show us even a few spots not on the traditional tour.

  • Pure perfection, the one thingout of the many that we will be talking about for years. The host was so knowledgeable and friendly. the small group became quick friends. Well worth the money.

  • The golden circle is a great day trip and should be included in anyone's first trip to Iceland. The trip to Thingvellir was a beautiful start to the trip, both interesting from an historical perspective, as well as a geological one. The geysers were nice not as grand as Yellowstone in the US, but worthwhile nonetheless. The Gullfoss was breathtaking. Capping off the excursion was the secret lagoon which was a quite nice way to end the day. Note: the facility rents all you need to get into the hot springs.

I rated this only 4 stars because a high school group was booked along with the rest of us tourists. At the first stop of the tour, one of the young men wandered off from the crowd, and got lost. It took hours for for him to be located and for us to restart the tour. Only after he was located, did the chaperone share her mobile number with her students so they could call her should they get separated. The tour company should consider their policies of including school groups and what they should be instructed regarding staying with the tour. Fortunately all worked about at the end of the day.

  • The tour was wonderful and driver knowledgeable. But when van was moving , no one in the back 3 rows could hear and therefore all information was not available. I was looking forward to learning about Iceland and was so disappointed.

  • The tour itinerary was good but the service from the local tour operator left much to be desired. The bus was small and not very comfortable and fid not have any WiFi unlike Grayline which has WiFi o all its buses. The bus came late to pick us up and the destination was reversed. We were taken first to the secret lagoon where we were supposed to go last. The driver was not very communicative. He hardly told us anything about the places we visited until we asked. We actually needed to ask him how much time we had a each location as he would not tell us until asked.

  • Excellent tour-able to see all of the sights and spend 2h in a heated lagoon similar to the famous one but with about 10 of the people at a tenth of the cost! Highly recommend.

  • We had such a great time on this excursion even though the weather was dreary. Well worth the walk to get close to the falls so beautiful. Martin was a great tour guide and we appreciated the terminal me spent with him.

  • I loved this trip. The small size, the sights, the tour guide... a fabulous way to relax and start our Iceland adventure!
