  • Apart from the late arrival of our transport due to inconsiderate travellers, who had changed their mind about the trip but not told anyone, this was a first class trip. The driver, Palmi, was by knowledgeable and friendly and all the sights were amazing. Finishing off at the secret lagoon was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this trip.
It should be noted that the lunch stop was at a cafe so no need to take your own lunch. There was nowhere to eat your own food.

  • Our tour guide Thor was great. Good info, music, and personality. The Secret Lagoon was very nice and relaxing. We chose it because we did not want to go the super-hyped Blue Lagoon. The Golden Circle was the least interesting of our 4 tours.

  • While we ended up having a OK time, the tour started out as a disaster....only the efforts of our guide saved a good deal of the day. We were told we'd be picked up at Bus Stop 9 which is outside and very cold at 9am when it is still dark in Iceland in December. While they said it could be up to a half hour wait, it was over 45 minutes of freezing before a very full van picked us up. After we jammed in, the driver took us to another location where another van filled with people was waiting. They had been stuffed in that van waiting for 45 minutes waiting for us so we weren't the most welcome guest. We picked a small group tour because i am 68 and have Parkinson's so we were willing to pay for an easier and more intimate tour... Boy were we wrong. There were only 2 seats left on the van... on in the very front which i gave to my wife, and one in the very last row jammed between 4 people... It was so tight i couldn't even scratch an itch... i couldn't see out the window and had no place to put the things we needed to get through the day. I could see or talk to my wife., the person I wanted to share the day with. We rode that way until for about an hour until we got to our first stop where i told our guide that i was very unhappy and it was of no fault of mine... I couldn't imagine spending the next 6 hours like this and i let our guide know that... When we got back on the bus guide salvaged the day by calling his office and getting permission to let me sit in the Tour Guides seat in front which isn't usually allowed since it isn't the safest. It is a jump seat that goes up and down so anytime anyone got on or off i had to climb down the stairs and let them in and then climb back up the stairs to my seat... this happened a number of times at each stop both getting in and getting out... try that with Parkinson's. Also, there is only a partial floor in front of that seat so my feet had to dangle or i had to sit sideways which wasn't comfortable. I thank our guide for his efforts.... he made it survivable. The sites were beautiful and we managed to make the best of it but it was more challenge than i wanted, not what we were lead to expect even though we paid extra for that small group tour. We contacted the tour company Arctic Adventurers and let them know what happened but they never got back to us with a response.

  • This was the worst viator trip ever. The trip was organized by Arctic adventures which is the local tour company. The guide barely spoke 6 sentences in 12 hours tour. I and my friends at the back of the bus could not hear the guide so when I asked the driver/guide to speak up, he simply did not repeat the content we missed. This happened on several occasions. Not only that, but Faxi falls was part of the trip and the guide/driver was unaware that it was part of the itinerary till I pointed it out to him. He first denied it and then when I said that it is part of the itinerary, he said he will take us. Many fellow passengers were also not aware of this and they did thank me for pointing it out. At every landmark, we had to listen to guides from other tours to get information about the area. Our guide/driver was very rude. Because of cold weather, the battery of my phone would quickly drop and so I asked the driver if he could plug my phone in a charging port. There was only 1 charging port in the entire bus. I don't think all people have phones whose battery would last 12 hours if being used for taking pictures. Upon urging the driver, he plugged my phone for about 10 minutes and then when my phone did not start, he said he needs to charge his phone and could not charge my phone anymore. Talk about customer service! And the 16 seat bus had no charging ports. Never take a small bus tour. A bigger bus is always a better option. There were a couple of elderly people on the bus and because of lack of communication from the driver, they went to incorrect pickup points. Ingle was the name of the driver and I did not think he had any information to share. I was so excited about this trip and had read enough and ended up sharing some information with my fellow bus mates. Arctic adventures you such big time. Never recommending this company to my friends. Reykjavik excursions was the company for my south shore trip and I wish I had booked with them for my golden circle trip. If I could give negative 5 stars for my experience, I would. I am not really sure what Viator will do about this but I hope this experience does not get repeated for other passengers. Viator should get in touch with Arctic adventures and Viator can call me if they have any questions. I wish I could get my money back. Maybe next time, I will go to a destination, get information from the local people and then book trips instead of advance booking. There are many companies and the buses are not full for all of them.

  • Tours was great! Golden circle is a must. Michael was exceptional. He paid extra attention to my parents that needed more help. He pointed out WC, provided extra info at each destination, and gave clear instructions on when and where to meet. He was very knowledgeable on Iceland and entertaining.

  • Tour guide was great, very friendly and helpful. More detailed historical and geological explanation at each site would have been appreciated.

  • Great tour. Highly recommended. Marvelous tourguide. Nice stops - The secret lagoon was very special.
The pick-up however, was a bit stressfull because there was no Viator logo on the minibus. The bus was late and had a strange time schedule.

  • The small group golden circle and secret lagoon tour was the best of the three tours I took on my Iceland stopover. It was the only tour I took on Artic Adventures. I think if I could only go one place in Iceland it would be Thingvellir National Park. The combination of history and natural beauty was amazing. Ending the day at the not-so-secret lagoon was a treat. I enjoyed it far more than the Blue Lagoon. Our guide Finn was also terrific! Informative, helpful, humorous, and outgoing. He made the tour great.

  • Excellent tour and great tour guide

  • Absolutely amazing and I would totally recommend this, especially for people going to Iceland for very short trips. A lot of great landmarks are covered and the trip to the hot springs is such a different and nice experience. The trip is very well planned, which makes it very efficient - no rush, but no time wasted either. The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the trip even more fun despite the terrible weather we had.
