Graffiti in the Netherlands is illegal. How then do most works get displayed in public? Others wonder, "I have been in Rotterdam for 2 days already and I haven't seen any graffiti. How is it possible to organize a graffiti tour?"This is precisely the essence of the Graffiti Walking Tour. You will learn about the different groups and platforms that organize the graffiti and street art in Rotterdam. Also, as the graffiti in Rotterdam is limited, with only around 50 major pieces in the centre (as of the start of 2017), the tour will help you explore the small streets and corners where the graffiti is hiding!

Know More about this tour

Start your tour with a traditional local biscuit before diving into Rotterdam's unknown streets to uncover its hidden gems!

The tour will start of with an introduction to the first sculpture of one of the tallest people to ever live right next to a mural from the first and largest Street Art festival in Rotterdam in 2009.

The tour will continue through the small streets to explore the secret works hiding there and towards the second giant sculpture of Rotterdam (which for now will remain a secret.)

As you walk towards the viewing platform you will pass two of the oldest bars in the centre of Rotterdam. Once on top, you will have a chance to experience the city, street art, and architecture from above. Your guide will not only give you a brief introduction to the skyline but point out a second huge mural from the 2009 festival.

Once again at 'ground zero', your guide will walk you through quiet, side streets where you will explore some of the most recent and most exciting street art. In additional to the aforementioned skyline you will see an award-winning mural of the Rotterdam skyline by a local group of Lastplak, one of the largest pieces of street art in the centre, covering 100 metres and stretched between 3 sides of a building and a piece from the old Red Light District.

Towards the end, there will also be a piece of Street Art completed in 2016 which will serve as a short guessing game, where you will have to figure out the name of the book or film that inspired the piece and the name of the character in it.
