  • Know More about this tour

As your captain maneuvers the Observatory to various locations, you'll view an abundance of marine life and even a historic shipwreck, through large windows. Throughout your tour, a guide will provide an informative yet entertaining narration, in an interactive setting while answering any questions you may have.

The first site you visit is a dramatic shipwreck, the Cali, a steel schooner built in 1900. This ship ran aground 100 yards (90 meters) off the coast of Grand Cayman in 1944. From here, your captain takes you to Cheeseburger Reef. Be sure to have your cameras ready when our diver enters the water and begins to feed the hundreds of multi-colored tropical fish right in front of your window!

Hear more tales of the high seas as the Seaworld Explorer takes you to see the wreck of the Balboa. The Balboa is a 375 foot (115 meter) freighter which traveled from Cayman to Cuba when she encountered one of the worst hurricanes in the island's history on 10 November, 1932. The ship was literally broken into pieces by huge waves as she was bounced along the ocean floor. Much of her cargo of wood was used to reconstruct the buildings seen in George Town today.

The Seaworld Explorer then brings you back to the dock in the heart of George Town where you'll disembark.

    Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to Georgetown for your ship's departure. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. See our terms and conditions for full details.

It was a great excursion. I was able to take some great still shots and videos of the various types of fish and the coral under water.

This trip started with a few hiccups, even though I called the company to confirm our attendance as soon as our ship docked. It seems the booking from Viator didn't go through to them, and then they almost sent us on the wrong excursion because the names for several are similar. Once we finally got that sorted out, we boarded the Seaworld Observatory for our underwater sea adventure. Our host was a charming young man and we saw a few shipwrecks and a number of fish. Unfortunately, no stingrays though - which would have been thrilling. Although no one's fault, I did find this surprising and so did one of the employees with whom I briefly chatted following the tour. About 2/3 through the excursion, we anchored while the captain of the ship donned his scuba diving gear and got into the water to feed bread to the fish. It was cool to see all the fish swarming around him and he made sure to circle the boat so that people on both sides could get a close look. The entire tour lasted less than an hour though and you actually don't venture far from the marina. My own view is that the tour was okay, but my elderly parents really enjoyed themselves and that's why I rated it as a 4 star. I would recommend this to people with young children or to anyone else who's never before had a glimpse of what goes on in the water just below the surface.

This was an amazing excursion! The amount of ocean life we saw was spectacular - many, many kinds of fish including barracuda, parrot fish, puffer fish, octopus, stingrays, sea turtle, all kinds of coral. The guide was interesting, knowledgable and fun. The captain did the fish feeding, which was pretty fantastic! We are a family of 14, youngest being 5 years old, and oldest 74 years old - it was great for everyone involved. The excursion is a short walk from the port and there was plenty of shops to go to afterwards that were very convenient. It made for a fantastic and affordable excursion day!

We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion...especially since we live in the mid-west! The excursion was literally around the corner from where our tender left us off. It was fun to see the fish up close and personal. Depending what day you arrive Saturday, Sunday, or Monday some shops are open and some are not. By the way...It is much cheaper booking this excursions yourself. Good luck!

This excursion was thoroughly enjoyable in all aspects. Viator was very professional throughout the entire process with the email communication, the directions to their location and the efficiency of the actual tour office on the island. The semi sub was amazing in that the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and that the reef was incredibly beautiful. You actually felt that you were scuba diving, but you were very comfortably inside. Feeding the fish was amazing. The diver made sure that he came to each window so that all could get a good view. Very enjoyable experience from start to finish!

Our entire family (including five kiddos ages 1-11, my husband and I plus my parents) just loved this excursion! We had a fabulous time; it was one of the highlights of our vacation. None of us felt even slightly nauseated, and we all had awesome views. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

Great excursion. Guide was very informative, engaging and helpful. All of the family enjoyed it and we saw saw some wonderful fish and other incredible sights especially the fish feeding. Would definitely recommend as a fun, exciting and educational experience and much better than a similar event we experienced in Cabo San Lucas a few years ago.

Great to see all the fish and ship wrecks. They were so helpful to my husband since he just had back surgery 6 weeks ago

The guide was very informative and explained everything in detail and was funny. The "submarine" was clean comfortable and our trip was shared with only one other couple that day. We stumbled upon this trip by accident on line and im so glad we did. Had a blast.
