The Peter and Paul Fortress put up for fortification purposes but never been attacked. The Peter and Paul Cathedral is a unique sample of Russian 18th-century architecture that has reached us. It had for almost two centuries served as a burial-place for Russian emperors. The last Russian tsar- Nicholas II and his family were buried in the cathedral's small St. Catherine chapel in 1998.

St. Isaac's Cathedral, built in St. Petersburg in 1858 by the architect Montferrand, is the fourth highest among the world's cathedrals under the single cupolas. It follows St Peter's in Rome, St. Paul's in London and Santa Maria del Fiorre in Florence. The richly-adorned interior, lined with marble, and with malachite and lazurite columns, was intended for up to 10 000 worshippers. Standing on the broad Isaac's Square, its golden dome can be seen all over the city. On a clear day, the observation platform at the foot of the dome commands a fine view over St. Petersburg and its surroundings.

The Hermitage Museum is Russia's best gallery of world art, one of the most prominent art museums in the world and definitely the main tourist attraction of St Petersburg. Nowadays, the Hermitage has about 2.7 million exhibits and displays a full range of world art from Ancient Egypt to early 20th century Europe. It includes works by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Titian, unique collections of Rembrandt, Rubens, French Impressionists (Renoir, Cezanne, Manet, Monet, Pissarro), plus Van Gogh, Matisse, Gaugin and sculptures by Rodin. • Good tour. Would have liked to actually go in some of the attractions

  • worth of the money.

  • My guide Julia was sweet but she thought my tour was of St Issacs only. I informed her otherwise so after a 1/2 hour tour we drove quickly from here there and lots of sites were pointed out. She was knowledgeable but I assumed we'd see a few sites in detail. So this was 120 for 21/2 hours. The day before I had an excellent tour of the Hermitage which was thoroughly enjoyable and informative, 3 hours and cost 60 . Thought I was short changed a bit in The Grand Tour

  • Malinka was a wonderful, knowledgeable and best of all, enthusiastic guide!
Her english was perfect and I was just swept off by the wonderful display of historical and beauty of the places she showed me.

  • We got the whole day and all inclusive option. Our guide spoke multiple languages as well as us, so we communicated very good. The guide was young, a student, spoke soft and at time hard to hear. The tour is a perfect way to get an idea of the main attractions and then come back to the ones that interest most. It is a quick moving tour, be ready to walk fast to make the most. The last part, the Hermitage. The fact not having to stand in the line, it pays the tour alone. The Hermitage visit is the last of the tour so we were able to stay in for more time.

  • Lunch which is included in the tour could have been better.. There should be a choice on the set menu. Lunch was a disaster, apart from that, everything went well.

  • The guide,Gleb, was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient in showing us the highlights within the short time we had. Tour duration was just right and we managed to see the main sights without feeling rushed. Highly recommended for those who only have time to see St Petersburg in a day

  • The tour visited some nice locations, but the tour guide wasn't particularly engaging. She wasn'd bad or anything, but just seemed a bit disinterested.

Be careful when entering places like the Palace Square. There are people dressed up as kings and queens who will offer you photographs with them, which they do very well, however, what they didn't explain is that you need to pay. They snatched my phone off me, started taking photos, and then asked for money after about 5 photographs.

Don't make the same mistake I did! Ofcourse, the photos were still quite nice. The only issues is they take them with your own phone camera, then try to charge you for it... Great business model!

The locations themselves are really nice, and make sure you bring your camera with you

  • very nice tour

  • We had a good experience in St. Petersburg. We chose the complete day tour, with lunch included. The guide picked us up at the Peter Hotel, which is centrally located. She was a little late, so we got anxious. Tried to call the office, nobody picked up. She arrived after a few minutes, and we started the tour in a minivan. St. Petersburg is a beautiful city, with stunning churches and palaces. We specially loved the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood and St. Isaac's Cathedral. Seeing the tombs of the tsars at the Peter and Paul Cathedral was also very interesting. We ate lunch , which was simple but good. Soup. salad, chicken and rice, ice cream for dessert. Very nicely decorated little restaurant. After that there was no more transportation. If you have problems walking it wasn't a problem for us, it's not ideal, as we had to walk quite a bit and fast to the Hermitage Museum. The Hermitage Museum, former palace of the tsars, is a beautiful building. There are important works of art there, such as 2 Leonardo da Vinci's madonnas, paintings by Raphael, Canaletto and many more. We had to cut the tour a little short to leave for a ballet presentation at the Mariinsky Theater. The guide ordered an official taxi for us and waited until we caught it. Lydia, our guide, was professional, knowlegeable and funny. There was nobody else with our family group of 4, so it worked as a private tour.
