Know More about this tour

Sail from Port Douglas aboard a luxury catamaran to visit Low Isles in the quieter morning hours, before the majority of visitors arrive. After cruising from the mainland, arrive at Low Isles, where you can spend four and a half hours at Low Isles, a coral cay island where you can relax under palm trees on the white sands and snorkel off-beach in the sheltered lagoons undersea coral gardens.

Take a walk to Low Isles historic lighthouse, dating from 1878, or learn about the Great Barrier Reefs magical underwater world of iridescent fish and fluorescent coral on a guided snorkel tour led by a marine biologist. Theres more fun eco-education aboard a glass-bottom boat tour, with stunning coral views and expert commentary.

After a seafood buffet lunch on board the catamaran, soak up the sun on the deck or return to the water for a final snorkel before returning to Port Douglas by 4pm.

Only a select group of operators are permitted to visit the coral cay Low Isles, the only Great Barrier Reef island a short sail from Port Douglas. This cruise combines luxury and eco credentials, for a premium reef experience.

Had the best day onboard sailaway to Mackay Reef. Super knowledgeable and friendly crew. Loved it :)

Amazing day with Sailaway, Liz, Cara & Blake. We did the full day Low Isles tour. There was about 20 people on board which was perfect, lovely pace to get to the Isles. We had a choice of stronger swimmer snorkelling which was at a good pace, you can take a noodle & it didn’t go too far out or too fast. The highlight was seeing the turtles & swimming with them, absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say the whole trip was perfect, the crew were amazing & boy did they work hard, the buffet lunch was one of the best I’ve had on one these trips. Would highly recommend to anyone

We booked the whole day Low Isles snorkelling, from start to finish it was a fantastic day. Liz, Cara & Blake the skipper were friendly, knowledgeable & wow they worked hard. It took about an hour to cruise at a gentle pace to Low Isle, we went on the confident swimmers guided tour with Liz, it’s not that far off the Isle & we felt very comfortable with it. Then we saw turtles, such a wonderful experience to swim with them. Lunch was back at the boat & it had to be one of the best buffet lunches I’ve had, I think we’d worked up a good appetite. Snorkelling off the boat in the afternoon & a cruise home. I would recommend this over any of the larger operators & bigger boats. We were taken care of all day by a great crew

Time for snorkeling is not really long, 2 sessions each about 1 hour, but is good enough for poor / average swimmer. Food provided is just good for refreshment though is not really an important item in the whole event.

What a fantastic day we had! Snorkeling was great, the team was very friendly and made us feel safe. We enjoyed every minute of it, the food was nice and plenty. Highly recommended!

The snorkelling on the reef was amazing. But overall, the scenery, service, lunch and the whole experience was fantastic, well done.

This cruise was amazing from start to finish. I can't rave enough about the quality, professionalism of the crew, and overall joy of a full day on this sailboat.we were picked up at 8 am and driven to the quay for an all day sail in a catamaran out to the Low Isles and the Great Barrier Reef. It was magical. The trip out is about an hour and we had morning tea with fruit and pastries and then got our gear. The company runs a great day, flexible to accommodate beginners up to advanced snorkelers. There were several families with little people too, and they snorkeled with the rest of us. It's been 5 years since I snorkeled, and this was more challenging than Hawaii--open ocean and really strong currents and a lot of wind. I had an underwater camera but there was so much sand kicked up by the winds that the water was pretty cloudy and didn’t show off the coral really clearly so I didn't use it. Nonetheless, we saw turtles, a pretty school of fish, a giant clam--really giant!--with shell wide open, and lots of interesting coral. Afterwards, we took a walk around the island and saw some birds--the area is a sanctuary and there are nesting Pied Imperial Pigeons and falcons and we saw some terns too. Back by a tender to the boat for a lovely lunch (dessert was ANZAC cake--delicious!--and some of the passengers spent some more time swimming and snorkeling off the boat...not us though! And a fabulous sail back. What a great experience!

Outstanding trip, especially for a novice! The low isles are easily accessible, and our early snorkel was walking in off the beach, in quite shallow water. The equipment fit well - they even had a prescription mask for my wife which was perfect! The guides are patient and helpful, gave us plenty of guidance, and the fish were amazing. The food was good and plentiful - we never wanted for anything. The lunch buffet onboard was excellent. Sailing in a relatively small group was really nice, and it gave us ready access to the reef and the guides. The weather cooperated and the experience was exceptional. I would recommend it to anyone!

This sailing trip was excellent from picking up in the afternoon to dropping off at the end, we had great weather to sail out to the low islands, the skipper and crew were excellent especially when we went snorkeling, very informative and well prepared. The food on board was excellent both lunch and snacks on the way back, well done to your team

Perfect weather for a perfect day sailing out to Low Isles. The boat was beautiful and not over-crowded which is what we had hoped for. Staff were relaxed but efficient and friendly. Lovely lunch and snacks. We appreciated the guided snorkel tour before given the freedom to roam on our own. My only comment is that the nature walk was a little slow and I would have preferred more time in the water at the beach.
