Know More about this tour

Great Wall is the very symbol of ancient Chinese engineering. The Badaling section is a prime, preserved example of this colossal structure. Since Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 476 BC) and Warring States Period (476 BC - 221 BC), Badaling became a very important military strategic place Many incomplete parts of the wall were proved to be built in the Warring States Period. Here you will have the opportunity to climb up either the North or South Face of the Wall.
Ming Tombs, burial grounds to 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. Only three of the tombs are actually open for viewing. Changling, the earliest and largest of the tombs, dates from the year 1413. We will explore the largest of the excavated burial sites, the Changling Tomb, which is divided into three separate, impressive courtyards.

Our tour guide Tom did a great job. I had a lot of questions about the sites and he was very knowledgable. Our driver did a valiant job navigating through Beijing’s AM rush hour traffic. The convenience of having a driver, and for the tour guide to handle the entry tickets are also well-worth the price of the tour. Just be prepared for massive crowds and long lines at Badaling. This is China after all. The Ming tombs was a drastic contrast - peaceful, calm, with large open spaces.

This was an amazing place I couldn’t walk it all as the steps are huge, my brother did though, it would be a mistake to come to China and not visit this place

Pros: It was fast, they picked up, and left us next to our hotel, it was low season so only the two of us on the tour. Cons: The guide and driver think you are: 1) ignorant 2) stupid 3) full of money 4) they want to finish as early as possible 5) they don't give a sh*t about you The guide did the minimum explanation and pushed us through the full tour to go faster, so they both could finish early and go home. They convinced us to go on a different part of the wall because of "parking problems" for the part of the wall we wanted to visit. We hade 1h30 on the wall, which was quite short, and after that the food was bad. The tea and jade shops are mandatory stops that were not advertised beforehand, and are completely useless.

I had a great time on my tour. Cynthia was a great guide answering all of my questions. And if you need a fantastic picture taken of you while on your visit have her do it, she knows all the angles for a great photo of yourself and the sights.

The weather in Beijing was cold, we visited the Great Wall entered from the Jiayuguan pass near Beijing. The view was foggy but lots of tourist climb up sections of the great wall. After lunch, We walked the Sacred Way of the Ming Tombs, visited the Chang Ling tomb. That was fun, the tour guide from Gate 1 travel explained the history along the way. It was wonderful experience.

Hiking the Great Wall of China was a bucket list item for me and it was amazing to visit! I arranged the tour through Trip Advisor and everything worked very smoothly. Michael, my guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. Transportation was on time, safe and clean. Mine was meant to be a group trip, but it turns out I was the only guest. Honestly, I would have preferred a group since I’m a solo traveler and wanted to join up with a larger group of folks. The trip included visiting the Great Wall (it’s a steep hike!), touring a jade shop, walking around the Ming Tombs and visiting a tea shop.
