This section of the Great Wall offers unparalleled views from the Ming Dynasty watchtowers. Walk at your own pace as you traverse the wall to the watchtowers, becoming immersed in the history and myths told by your local guide. Along the way, you will have great views and photo opportunities of the wall snaking through the beautiful countryside. You can choose to descend the Great Wall by toboggan or take the scenic cable car.

It was worth to take this guided tour in Beijing. This was not my first time in Beijing, but this was my first guided tour in Beijing. I learnt a lot. Thank yo very much!

Lily was an excellent tour guide, who not only gave us an excellent history lesson on the wall and its history but most importantly, you'll experience the Wall in an uncrowded VIP tour in a group of fewer than 10 people. There are no hidden costs, no pressure to buy anything extra during the trip, and you can choose to pay for any additional transit at the wall such as a Cable Car or hike all the way up to point 20 on your own with the option to sled down in a Toboggan for 100 CNY. Lily will take you up to Gate 6 which is where you'll be coming back down to when you choose to slide down or take the cable car. If hiking a steep hill (its Steep) is not your thing, take the cable car up and down. After you finish, the traditional Chinese lunch in the nearby village is just as spectacular offering the utmost privacy and without a large tourist group. Looking forward to doing another tour with Lily in the near future.

My friend and I were lucky enough to have Lily as our tour guide for our trip to the Great Wall. She was very knowledgeable about different areas of interest and spoke great English. The authentic lunch we had only added to the uniqueness of this opportunity. Lily went out of her way to show us a few places we were interested in Beijing after our tour. She was a fantastic tour guide with a bright personality. Highly recommend!

I encouraged my fiancé to do this tour with me, despite it being winter in Beijing (quite a shock coming from Australia). Coming up to the trip I was worried the weather would be horrible, but was pleasantly surprised with the day being clear, sunny, and a cool -15 degrees. We were picked up by our tour guide and driver to find we were the only 2 on the tour! The car and driver were exceptional as was our tour guide. She was informative, bubbly, a great photographer, spoke English extremely well and went the extra mile showing my fiancé and I to the pearl markets after the tour finished. During the tour we arrived early before the crowds, were given free time to explorer the wall ourselves and rode toboggans back down the mountain after getting the chair lift up. We then had a delicious home cooked lunch at a local families home (which doubles as an AirBnb). Despite the temperature, my fiancé and I actually got quite warm during the walk, so don’t let the temperatures during winter deter you from coming. Once on the wall, if the sun is out, you’ll be warm enough in pants and a T-shirt (we stopped off layers of jumpers but needed the extra layers for the toboggan and when in the shade). Overall this was an incredible trip and I feel very lucky to have had such a joyful, wonderful tour guide.

This tour was absolutely wonderful. All due to our amazing tour guide Jim. I booked a private tour with 2 friends who were visiting me in Beijing. Jim picked us up from a very close location near their airbnb and it was a smooth and quick trip from there. We had VIP access and skipped the entrance ticket area and shuttle bus. Jim was very nice. He took pictures for us and gave us the history of the Great Wall. I’ve been to the GW 3 times and so far and this was the least stressful and fun trip I had. We then had an amazing lunch nearby. The Chinese cuisine was organic and delicious. Jim was very polite and kind the whole time and let us run the trip at our own pace. We ended the trip at a reasonable time. I definitely recommend this tour and Jim the tour guide!

We went on this tour on 27.12. Initially we were not that excited about the 7am departure but it ended up being amazing! We were the first people on the wall on that day and managed to get heaps of photos of an empty wall. Lily was our guide and she was excellent, spoke great english and had lots of interesting facts and information. The bus trip took around 90 minutes and then Lily organised the tickets, we took the chairlift up to the top (be aware this costs extra, I think 100 CNY pp.) We then had two hours to explore the wall. To get back down I would recommend the slide/toboggan, it was lots of fun! Afterwards we went to lunch at a famous local restaurant, the food was fantastic and could accommodate dietary restrictions. We were back in the city by around 3pm so could still have the afternoon free. Would highly recommend!

It was a fun day and Lily was a great tour guide. The wall really is a must see and the snow made it that more beautiful (tough harder to walk around). Lily was great bringing in information on the wall and beyond. Great experience.

Booked an Urban Adventures Day Tour for a party of 12 for Thursday 3rd January to visit the Great Wall of China. Our guide Lily was fantastic. From the beginning when we were picked up from our hotel she was friendly, helpful, funny and kind. Throughout the day Lily gave us loads of information about the local sights. The Chinese lunch included in the trip was delicious and again Lily was good fun chatting with us and telling us all about the culture in China. We couldn’t of asked for a better guide and I would definitely recommend her to anyone else looking to book a tour, in fact we wished we had booked a 2 day tour now! Thanks Lily!
