Excellent, good value, easy access from Carines Harbor for cruise ships. The submarine is well worth the extra couple dollars

Out of about 8 hours trip to Green Island from Cairns; we could only see not more than 30 odd minutes of underwater corals !! That’s a bit disappointing considering we travelled all the way to Cairns for it!! This 30 minutes included add on trip of submersible !! I would have thought of at least couple of hours of coral views deeper into the ocean.

A great day on the Great Barrier Reef. Fast ride out on the Green Island Catamaran and good time on the glass bottom boat and semi submarine.

Beautiful island and the snorkelling was fun
However I would have liked to have been told about the sand flies that bit my legs !!

  • 29-Jan-2020

This excursion exceeded my expectations! Although the weather was a bit gloomy, the clarity in the water was absolutely breathtaking! I saw so much, a few turtles, some octopi, a bunch of stingrays! Highly Recommend Green Island!

Wow is all I can say, absolutely brilliant day. Such a beautiful island. I did the Sea Walk as an extra and OMG AMAZING. All I can say is do it.....

Fantastic day. Great boat ride. Loads of facilities on the island. Snokeling and submarine were great to see the coral and the fish.

  • 17-Dec-2019

very well organised the glass bottom boat was over my expectations nice beach
staff very helpful giving a few tips

  • 02-Dec-2019

This trip consisted of a 9 am departure. Coffee and tea was provided but only basic. A variety of seating areas throughout the craft, two inside deck areas as well as on top. The staff were helpful with regards to sorting snorkelling gear but I was a little surprised at the extra charges for some things. Buffet lunch provided was fairly ggod standard fare. Green Island beaches were lovely. Two areas available either side of the jetty. Obviously tide times affect the enjoyment of both. Lowtide made the advanced area more attractive but there were small areas where you could see a reasonable number of marine life. The changing rooms and toilets on Green island available to day trippers was very inadequate. Only two outside showers were available to rinse off the sand .
The restaurants and cafes were comparable to the mainland.
All in all we had a pleasant day.

    A few tips from us:

    - The semi-sub is a MUST DO! An experience I will never forget!
    - You get the option to chose between the glass-bottom boat or snorkelling gear. If you are doing the semi-sub, then don’t bother with the glass bottom boat. It’s cool and all, but ta bit of a let down after the amazing semi-sub.
    - I wouldn’t bother with lunch. It was curry and rice, with a selection of meats, melon and bread. Just buy food on the island when you get there.
    - The water is so shallow here that you can walk out to sea for a few minutes before it gets too deep to continue walking. So your unlikely to see many fish near the shore (you will if you swim out) but it’s a perfect depth for non-swimmers/ kids to have a walk in the water.
