Around lunchtime, we will stop at Sintra Historical Centre, close to the medieval Sintra Royal Town Palace. Here you'll find the famous local pastry - Travesseiros. You can't skip it!
We'll also visit the mystical Quinta da Regaleira, a scenographic park, that invites you for a symbolic initiation journey. We'll explore fountains, grottos, the Initiation Well, a labyrinth of secret tunnels and the Palace.Along the walks we will share all our love for this mountain, giving you a reliable source of information and local knowledge.
The "cherry on top" of this day trip, is driving by Sintra Natural Park and stopping by the ocean at Cabo da Roca, the tip of Continental Europe. Along the way, we'll see Colares village and discover some of the coastline gems.

Bring comfortable shoes. We will walk 8/9 km up and down hill, including stairs.
Monument tickets are not included. We will buy the tickets to Pena Palace for you in advance (with a time slot). Please be ready with cash for reimbursement (20 per person). As tour guides, we can skip the lines to buy tickets at Quinta da Regaleira. If this happens, you should have cash for reimbursement (12).
The lunch options vary from a quick on the go meal (5), to a menu restaurant (25)
Sintra has a micro clima, and it is usually colder than Lisbon. Please bring appropriate clothing.

My family really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. Rui guided us through all the sites the whole trip with his extensive knowledge about not just the main sites but also details on plants, statues and small sites we passed along the way. His passion for the history is evident. We specifically looked for a small group tour and are very glad we find this one--Rui's van takes 8 guests. Rui was attentive to everyone's needs. It actually felt like a private tour. Highly recommend!

Rui was fantastic, and really made the experience what it was. He is kind and knowledgeable, and our tour with him felt special. Even when the weather didn't cooperate, he was flexible and moved our day around to try to ensure we could enjoy the sites. Beyond the fantastic guide, the sites we spectacular - definitely worth the time. I highly recommend this tour!

Rui is hands down the best guide we’ve had through Airbnb, or anywhere else for that matter. It was red carpet treatment from start to finish, and the day exceeded expectations in every way! Meeting in the AM could not of been easier — it was a central location and simple to find. Rui was waiting when we arrived, the van was warm and there was ample space for all of us. As Rui expertly drove us from Lisbon to Sintra, he took time to explain the many points of interest we came across and a lot of the history that makes the area so special. Once arriving into Sintra, we had ample amounts of time at each of our stops. Rui explained in detail the history surrounding both Peña Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, which was incredible to learn about, as we leisurely strolled around the grounds on a gorgeous day. We also had time to enjoy a local lunch in the old town, stopped by two beautiful beach spots on our way back to the city, and Rui also treated us to a couple local pastries that can be only found when visiting Sintra… which were DELICIOUS!!! We did not want this unbelievable day to end, and would definitely use Rui again in the future whenever possible. THANK YOU RUI FOR A DAY WE WILL BEVER FORGET!!!

We booked Rui to take us on a one day tour last June It truly was a most memorable day - we visited Pena Palace, Cascais,Cabo de Roca to name a few - Rui was a wonderful guide giving plenty of local knowledge without being intrusive - his vehicle was spotless and comfortable and we saw places that we would never have visited before Next time we are back in Lisbon we will definitely book Rui again - no trip to this city is complete without one of Rui s tours !!!

Rui gave us a wonderful personalized tour of Sintra, Cascais and other towns outside of Lisbon. He was knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating. We have told all of our friends that we had a great sightseeing adventure with Rui and highly recommend him. Rui is an exceptional guide. He is knowledgeable, humble, reliable and so passionate about the area.He took us to the major attractions and on some back roads of Sintra telling us interesting facts and fascinating stories that made the facts come alive.
