Peter. (Guide), was quite nice. Put audible mic ,in the vans. Remind passengers about seat belts. Oh. Thank you for our speedy ride on the autobahn

This should have been an awesome review. ETS combined us with another tour (Heidelburg & Castle) and therefore shortened our Full day in Rothenburg experience. We had already been to Heidelburg and zero interest in going. After we left the meet up point in Frankfurt and were leaving the city, the tour guide/driver told us where we were heading. The three of us were shocked. We paid for a full day in Rothenburg, and got there 40minutes before everything closed. We arrived, ate and didn't get to go in the places we paid for. It was a total bust. Also after our drawn out meal, we were walking around in the dark and couldn't appreciate the architecture. Meanwhile the people who paid for a shorter day, didn't get back until much later than they planned. They were shocked at the situation as well, and felt sorry for our loss. The whole day really let us down, as we had one shot to see Rothenburg, and ETS blew it. When we emailed ETS asking for compensation/discount for being deceived, they blew us off and said we should be happy that we got to see two cities. The response was arrogant and off putting. They are not an honest tour company. The sad thing is, I work in the travel industry and could have thrown a lot of business their way. It just goes to show how short sited they are about their reputation and potential.

Excellent Trip. The view of the old city and the surrounding road was breath taking. Peter was knowledgeable and knows every inch of the city. He is very nice. Really enjoyed the trip. There was no one in the tour but the Company still go ahead with the tour and not cancel the tour. Very recommended!!

Peter our tour guide did not offer much insight/commentary in the van to or from Rothenberg about much of anything and also did not provide a lot of knowledge on the sights we saw in Rothenberg. Example: as we were leaving the one church we visited I asked what is name of church again? and he had to go look at the sign on the building (I could have done that myself). He does not know small details let alone the name of buildings on the tour! The tour description itself indicated we could choose to see the one larger church in the town or go to the torture museum, but Peter was not going to give us a choice and was planning on just taking us to the church until several of us complained we wanted a choice to see the torture museum. The tour should probably NOT go to Rothenberg on Sundays as majority of stores are closed --or at least tell people in description everything is closed ahead of time so they can choose NOT to take tour on a Sunday if this is important. It was important to me as there are really great Christmas shops in this town and I was really disappointed to see EVERYTHING CLOSED on SUNDAY except the torture museum, a bakery and maybe one or two restaurants open --despite the fact that Rothenberg is a huge tourist attraction. Giving each person one sandwich (bread, pickle and cream cheese sandwich) and one bottle of water was a nice thing to do since we were starving---however, a better idea would be to have a meal in Rothenberg which if on a Sun. would have to be set up by the tour since most places were closed.

This was our favorite day trip during our trip to Germany. George was a super knowledgeable guide. The drive to the town was beautiful and George showed us some beautiful stops on the way including a stunning church in different little town. Rothenburg is a small town but really beautiful. I would recommend trying the snowballs and then go to the butcher on the main street and get a sausage for lunch. They were so delicious. George recommended the butcher to us on our tour through the town. The Christmas market was one of our favorites in Germany as well. There were really nice people and great stalls. Also visit the popular Christmas store on the main street, you can't miss it. It is the most extensive, impressive Christmas store I've ever seen. We got back to Frankfurt around 7pm. It was a great day.
