Start offby visiting one of Munichs best old beer halls; a favorite among locals and famous for its lager, which still served from a wood barrel. Fortified by your first beer, make your way to one of Munichs breweries to learn about the Bavarian brewing process. Sip some of the offered beers, and have the opportunity to purchase dinner in the brewery.

Learn why beer is good for your health, the length monks went to in order to satisfy their thirst during Lent, where and how beer was first made thousands of years ago, how to fully appreciate the taste of beer, what the beer purity law means, andmore. End the evening at the worlds most famous beer hall: the Hofbruhaus. Try a wheat beer (Weissbier) and a lager, which rangein strength from 5% to 8% alcohol; see if you can conquer a mass (one liter of beer); or try some of the Hofbruhaus' light or dark house beer.

  • A different experience.., especially the tour guide was very good ... a great to do activity in Munich

  • We had a great time and even went into where they produce some of the beer. Wolfgang was a great guide.

  • Great way to start off our Munich vacation. Our guide - Noel, was fun and informative. He hung out with our group after the tour was over.
We learned about the beer purity laws and made stops at three different places ending at the Haufbrauhaus. Good fun!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Noel. He was very informative as well as personable. Just be aware that you are actually touring more of a microbrewery then a large scale brewery. We really enjoyed it. It actually felt much more homey than I think a big brewery would have been and we probably got more out of it. We had such a great time with our group that we actually all stayed and had dinner together at our final destination, the Hofbrauhaus. A great way to learn about German beer and it's culture.

  • We really enjoyed our tour, and were lucky to have it with Noel! He made it highly entertaining. We learned a lot about both the beer making process and about Munich, the beer capital of the world. This tour is perfect if you want to meet new people and have a couple of great beers in the process.

  • Ok but our guide was terrible. Brought us to a very expensive restaurant and said okay, you can order if you want. With 8 people, if some ordered we would all have been stuck there until they finished. No pretzels, a tour of a mock brewery as the original one moved- poorly planned tour with lackluster guide.

  • Connie was an amazing tour guide - super funny and had heaps of knowledge. Would have liked more smaller samples of beer but still a great evening.

  • It was fun, but you only stop at 2 brew houses and only get beer from one, Pauliner. It was fun but there was no real tasting, they just buy you 2 beers.

  • Note: the day we were to go on this tour the whole city was on fire with excitement about the soccer win and the whole plaza and the meeting place were closed off for a huge celebration that night. security had closed it and we had to find out the new meeting place.
The guide was a nice irish guy who really enjoyed showing us the Pauliner brewery. We went below and saw the beer being brewed. Then he suggested that since there was so much traffic etc that we skip the pub where we were to have the next beer. So we basically only saw this facility. He was to lead us to the Hoffbrau house for beer tour only includes two beers and food at our own expense. My husband and I walk ten miles each day. We walk fast...but we lost him. He delivered our group to the now crazy crowd in the Hoffbrau house. they said he assumed we and some others had dropped out which we had not. we had great trouble finding our group in this crazy scene. He had left them there. I am sure this was an unusual circumstance and not the usual tour but it was not worth 62 for two of us

  • We enjoyed the tour. The tour information and detail is excellent if you know absolutely nothing about beer and how it is made. But if you've been on brewery tours before, then you may be a little disappointed. Otherwise, the tour is fun in that you get an introduction to a few excellent locations in Munich. Our tour guide Wolfgang was knowledgeable about the popular Munich styles, the history of beer in Munich, and had great recommendations of other beers to try and restaurant/pubs to visit.
