Today has been our best day in Vietnam by far! We boarded a speed boat in Ho Chi Minh City, and enjoyed breakfast as we cruised along the Saigon River to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Our guide, Mr Chí, did a fantastic job of showing us all that there was to know, and also of timing each part of the day to avoid crowds. His fantastic sense of humour managed to lighten the mood of the tour, without being irreverent, and helped us enjoy it. We have been well educated, well fed, and well looked after. I highly recommend this!

Great adventure and boat ride. Loved the privacy and tour guide. Thanks! The price is quite a bit, but it was worth it.

This excursion is highly recommended! Our tour guide Lan was very knowledgeable and informative. She has a lovely personality and is very funny. We were very well looked after from the moment we were picked up from our hotel. It was great to get to Cu Chi by boat and to get a perspective of the city from the water. Thanks again to Lan & our drivers.

I arranged this adventure through the Saigon River Tour website. The company was quick to confirm the booking and provide tour day details. A helpful reminder was sent to me the morning of the tour. Our tour guide, Lan (pronounced like "lawn" for English speakers), arrived a few minutes early at my hotel to start the day. We proceeded by van to pick up the remaining members of our tour group at their hotels before arriving at the Saigon River dock landing. Lan spent a few minutes on the dock getting everyone acquainted with each other before boarding the speedboat at 9:00 AM. The trip up to Cu Chi took about 90 minutes. We enjoyed tropical fruits and water along the way. Upon disembarking, we walked through a well lit tunnel and a ticket turnstile to enter the facility. Lan guided us through the various displays at the Cu Chi site. She provided a great deal of interesting detail about the history of Vietnam and the American War in particular. As a history buff, I was impressed and learned a lot on this tour. However, it was more than just visiting a significant historical site and learning facts. Lan was able to weave stories about the people who lived through the hardships of war into the present moment of where we stood and what we were looking at. Her dry humor, much appreciated, gave us many chuckles. Lan cleverly shepherded our group through the complex. How so? There were several tour groups at the site, some quite large, but Lan was able to get us to each display with little delay by "working around" them. This is a sign of a professional and experienced guide. After the tour of the complex was completed at 12:45 PM, we enjoyed a delicious lunch on site under a large pavilion. The complimentary meal included two main entrees, Vietnamese vegetable rolls, soup, rice, and iced tea with an option to purchase a soft drink. We departed Cu Chi on the speedboat at 1:15 PM. After disembarking at 2:30 PM, our group members were returned to their respective hotels. Clean comfort facilities were available at the dock landing in Saigon and at the Cu Chi Complex. All of the tour company staff (guide, boat operator, and van driver) were polite, helpful, and happy. I highly recommend Saigon River Tour.

Wow. Just wow. Riding the Saigon River in a stunning speedboat, so many sights to absorb. Tour guide “Rambo” is a veritable wealth of information about the river, the city, and the history, all delivered in impeccable English. The tunnels are insane. So much history and mind blowing information. A humbling experience. Gorgeous traditional Vietnamese food included for lunch. Cannot recommend highly enough as an amazing holiday activity

Chi was a very friendly guide, had a great group and would highly recommend to people ( also way quicker than the bus)

Worth the extra money to go via boat. Much more pleasant than long bus ride. Gives great perspective on the city from the hour you spend on the river. Mr Chi was our guide on the day, he was informative and engaging for both adults and kids. Lunch was fine, but not anything grand. We had 6 people on our tour which was great number, plenty of space on the boat and lots of time for questions to our great guide. He was the highlight.
