Know More about this tour

After heading to the meeting spot for the 5:30pm departure time, your group will depart on this 4 hour walking tour from the most vibrant and dynamic square in Rome: Campo de Fiori. Here, among bustling cafs and street musicians you will meet your guide. Just in time for the Italian 'aperitivo' you will be tasting a selection of artisanal Italian salamis, so special they have protected geographical indication (PGI). This will be accompanied of course by your first taste on this excursion of the countrys notoriously fine wine.

As you stroll through the city center, your guide will be divulging the strange and wonderful history of the area before you taste your next culinary delight: cheese. The historic shop we will be visiting also contains only PGI protected cheeses of various Italian origins and will be complimented by a carefully selected wine. They will also be providing us with a must try Roman specialty: fried salted cod or baccal fritto.

Immersion into local cuisine will continue with a tasting of two other typically Roman foods: pizza at the slice and suppl. Your guide will be taking you to two eateries that specialize in the production of these scrumptious Italian foods, where these new tastes and aromas will be an unforgettable novelty for your palate.

After a walk to digest these tasty delicacies, you will almost be ready for supper in one of the coziest restaurants in Trastevere. Known for the quality of its food, this quarter is considered to have the best restaurants in Rome. Here, your group will be tasting an exquisite Roman antipasto and two first courses, accompanied by two different Italian wines of protected production and origin. Finally you will finish the tour in Trastevere by trying some delicious locally made Italian Ice cream in flavors typical of this famous Ice cream shop or gelateria. Your tour will then be concluded around 9:30pm.

By the end of the tour, not only will you feel content and full of excellent food and wine, you will have immersed yourself in Italian cuisine, a fundamental part of life in Rome. You will feel far more a part of the city than you ever would have imagined you could be.

Adrian was very friendly and knowledgeable, Good sample of different foods (loved the salami but pasta was a little disappointing... too dry). Wine at most food stops so be prepared. Lots of walking involved.

My family had a fantastic evening on a food tour with Adrian. We couldn't have asked for a better guide - knowledgeable, fun and very personable. We learned lots of interesting stories about Roman history and got to sample delicious food and wine at some little hole-in-the-wall eateries we would have normally overlooked. Great fun with the group and certainly a highlight of our trip! Just don't eat anything leading up to this tour - you certainly won't leave hungry 😁

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk from the Campo de Fiore throughout the beautiful vias of Roma. Tasting all along the way! Adriano was our Guide and our group was a great mix of Europe, US and Canada.

If you want to have some fun while tasting a bit of Rome and sampling the wines of the region this is the way to go!!!

I good day to eat and find out more about the city when travelling alone. The guide was good and friendly though a little more detail about the food would have been appreciated. The me at cheese pasta rice balls gelato and wine were good. The battered fish and battered courgette flowers were stodgy. A different fish course and some vegetables would have been nice.good company

The food was more than disappointing, the fried fish and rice were so dry and tasteless that most people did not finish it. The pasta was below medicore the same goes to the gellato. I just got the impression that the guide gets paid from tourist traps who did not make any effort. 80 € per person are way too much for bad food. It will be a wiser decision to pay for your own food and eat at least 2-3 times for this sum. The guide has also to improve his English at times it was hard to follow his stories. I think he really had no clue what he was talking about.

Adrian was our guide and he was amazing (VERY knowledgeable)...covering all the details and history about the neighborhoods we walked through, the foods we tasted and what to do during our visit.
I highly recommend this tour for your first day/night in Rome!
