OverviewWith a long history as one of Vietnamâs most important cultural and religious centers, Hue today is a popular stop for tourists because of the impressive tombs of the Nguyen Emperors, the Thien Mu Pagoda, and the Imperial Citadel. The Imperial Citadel reminiscent of pre-communist Vietnam, is one reason why Hue became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. During this half day tour, visitors will be brought up and close with its turbulent history.

Know More about this tourYour tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Hue. With your guide, set off on your exploration of Hue's highlights, including the Imperial City, which alone is a must-see.
Take a short boat cruise on the Perfume River, heading to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest ancient architectural structures for religious worship in Hue. The temple (namely Heaven Fairy Lady Pagoda) is one of the most fascinating cultural landmarks in the city and is situated on Ha Khe hill on the north bank of the river, about 3 miles (5 km) from the city. Built 1601, the initial temple was very simple, but as time went by, it was redeveloped and expanded with more intricate features.
Continue your tour with a visit to Dong Ba Market in Old Hue, near the location where Dong Ba Canal joins the Perfume River. This market is strongly recommended for anyone with an interest in Vietnamese food or culture, as the lingering ancient characteristics leave an impression on visitors. The market sits near the eastern corner of the Citadel; a commercial district stretches along Dong Ba Canal nearby.
In the afternoon, you'll be transferred back to your hotel in Hue to end your tour.
