A guided experience in the cave system which features natural formations such as stalagmites & stalactites, plus a living history of the Nabuavaju clan. The cave is only illuminated by head lamps worn by the visitors into the cave and the incredible immersion into the cave system is brought to life by your guide and the spirit of the cave itself. Returning to our BBQ site overlooking the stream/swimming hole you will enjoy a wind down with a sumptuous Fijian lunch that will fill your stomach and allow time to get to know your hosts and make new friends.Heading back down to the departure point, passing through villages and hi-fiving the kids who wait to see you, you will be all smiles by the end of we are sure you will truly feel you have experienced a uniquely Fijian adventure.

Overview
Fiji's original Off Road adventure transports you deep into the Fijian interior aboard our custom built Off Road vehicles. The adventure is brought to life by your guides who will share the incredible history of the region and of course introduce you to the Fijian culture and way of life.
By "Taking the Road Less Travelled" you will be able to see first hand historical & geological sites that still remain as they were from centuries ago.
The Off Road Cave Safari is a half day adventure (4.5hours) which culminates in an amazing visit to the most beautiful cave system in Fiji, the Naihehe Cave.
As part of this experience, we also seek the Bete (priests) permission before we enter the cave system.
Your guides will give you great insight into the Caves and the role they played during the Fijian warfare days and the significance of the region in the Last War of Fiji.

What a great afternoon spent with ace and sadam at the cave..abit out of our comfort zone but absolutely loved it

This tour is a must do! Sadame, Moses, Zac and Mia are amazing tour guides. You will take a bus trip up into the mountains. Very short boat ride across the river, then into the forward drives. Moses was amazing driver managing the dirt roads, through his own village and up to the caves. First a welcome Kava ceremony, then down into the caves. You can wear any shoes through the tour but I recommend taking reef shoes for the caves as you will get wet up to your shorts. Sadame took us through the caves, even leading with our small children. They felt incredibly safe. There is one section you need to bend right down to get through, but then it opens up. The light being your headlamp. Amazing! To hear the history of caves from Sadame was amazing and eye opening. This really made the tour. Then a yummy lunch before heading back. This is a must do tour!

We did the Cave Safari on Friday 04/08, we had Tia Maria as our guide and Moses as our driver, it was amazing. Tia was very knowledgeable with the Cave and surrounding area, we went through the local village and saw the real Fiji, high fived the local kids, it was lovely to experience this, had Kava with the Chief and a ceremony to be allowed to go into the cave. Moses was an excellent driver with the road less travelled. Definitely put it on your to do list, you wont regret it.

Excellent activity with awesome cave trip. Saddam and Moses as guide and driver were a great team. The caves were great and being able to walk around them was thrilling. The cava ceremony was interesting. Didn’t have any effects so think it was ‘tourist’ level. However, thoroughly enjoyed the day. BBQ was good as well. 😊

We recently experienced the Naihehe Cave tour with Moses and Saddam as our guides. Saddam was a passionate and experienced guide throughout the tour providing a wealth of knowledge on the history of the cave and those who inhabited it. Moses worked with the local chief assisting us with approval to visit the cave and to cook the bbq whilst we explored the caves wonders with Saddam. These gentlemen made the experience valuable and we recommend it to those looking for an historical insight through their eyes.
