I had a great afternoon sail on the lovely Helsal IV with Captain Baz and Jimmy. Seeing Hobart from the water was a real treat and getting to take the helm for a little while added to the adventure. To top it off we were treated to a delicious afternoon tea with scones baked on the boat by Jimmy. Baz is a great captain who shares his experience while allowing passengers to have the thrill of handling this beautiful boat. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who likes to sail or have the experience of seeing Hobart by boat. Thank you Baz and Jimmy!

We had a great time sailing on the Derwent river, the crew provided a delicious morning tea along with excellent commentary. I would recommend this cruise. I am vision impaired and was very nervous about getting on the boat. With the help of the crew they made me feel at ease. I had an amazing experience. Thank you for your support

It was such a lovely sail. We were given the option to steer and took it…it was a delightful experience with a very knowledgeable and personable captain who showed us all of the sites on the Derwent and explained the history. I’d go again.

There is nothing as peaceful as sailing with the wind and sun combining to disconnect you from the world for a while. From the moment we stepped on board we knew we were safe and our son and partner absolutely enjoyed sailing for the first time. We were well looked after by Steph and Finn with coffee and scones and some bubbles. A very pleasant experience.

Friendly and excellent service. Mark, Barry and Jim were throughly professional with their sailing skills. Enjoyed a cuppa and freshly made scones that were made on the boat.

We have no experience at sailing at all.. we have just followed the annual Sydney to Hobart classic each year… so jumping aboard Helsal 4 (after remembering the deeds of the flying HelSal1 in the salt water Classic in the 1970s) seemed a very cool thing to do while visiting Hobart (and the famous docks)… in fact it was a highlight of our stay in Tasmania Hobart harbour is beautiful and sailing up the River Derwent to the Sydney to Hobart finish at full speed will be something we will talk about for a long time. A highlight for my wife and I, was taking over the controls and get involved in hauling the sails.. Classic Hobart Activity..

Fantastic crew, great information, tasty scones jam and cream and also cheese platter. Lots of laughs, shame the wind was a bit light on. But a truly great Time.

This was one of the highlights of our holiday. Mark & Jimmy treated us like friends. We were fortunate enough to be the only booking for the morning and were able to enjoy a hands on experience that involved assisting the crew and steering the yacht. My girlfriend and I have had limited sailing experience so it was interesting to learn various aspects of it. Mark and Jimmy were extremely knowledgable in sailing and of the local area. We were treated to scones and a cheese platter and felt very comfortable while on board the yacht. I couldn't recommend this experience more highly and I extend huge thanks to the crew for their hospitality.
