The tour was free. They were in time to pick us up from our AirBnb. It was a bit confusing going into the volcano who is who because there are massagers in there to help run the mud. At one point a tourists was rubbing on my leg and I didn’t even realize it which made me feel uncomfortable. I think she should announce who is an employee and who is not. The ladies soda a great job washing us off and the snack was delicious. At the end you’ll be able to tip in a jar that goes to all the workers so no need to tip individually!

Very unique experience. Would highly recommend using this operator to visit the Totumo Mud Volcano. Our guide Angel and driver Jesus took great care of us, and we had a great time with a great group!

TL;DR: volcano is meh and too much time is spent on the way. It's not worth going out of Cartagena only for this. Full review Transportion arrived on time. We spent about 1 hour and 30 minutes going to get the other passengers and on the way to the volcano. Volcano is very small so only about 10 persons can be inside at the same time and given that the place was very crowded, we only spent about 2 minutes inside the mud. The sensation of being inside a mud volcano was interesting. The tour guide said that the tour included a short massage at the volcano. The "massage" was just a guy taking the mud off of you when you were climbing the ladder on your way out. After that, we went to the lagoon to clean off the mud where a lady "helped us" take the mud off. After that we sat down to eat a colombian snack, which was ok. At this point, 25 minutes after arriving at the volcano, there was nothing else to do and we were on our way to the van. The lady that "helped us" at the lagoon harrassed the group for a tip and Backpackers staff did not do anything to prevent it even when they told us on the way to the volcano that the tip was voluntary. Finally, we spent about 1 hour 45 minutes on the way back to the hotel and the tour was complete. In conclusion, we spent 50 usd per person and more than 3 hours on the highway for a 2 minute experience. For me, not nearly worth it. Stopping at the volcano is ok if you are on the way somewhere else but I would not recommend going that far for so poor a experience.

Definitely a recommended experience when in Cartagena. It is so relaxing the ride to the Volcano had some nice views along the way. Make sure to bring hair ties and shower caps if you don't want mud in your hair it's hard to come off.

A very unique experience! The mud feels weird at first and the people will massage and wash you down. Amazing time.

Amazing experience with Jesus our driver and our guide Franklin. We got there early and beat the line of other tourist groups waiting to enter the volcano. We got a lot of amazing pictures from the people working on the volcano. Definitely a unique experience , totally recommend this company.

I would recommend this experience to anyone . Just don’t wear false hair because it will get mud in it . I’m happy I came and I enjoyed

This was a cool experience. The people were friendly. After you leave the volcano you go and clean off in a large body of water. Along the journey, I had the opportunity to see other parts of the country that really exposed my eyes. Note: If you don’t want to tip, say no to all services offered at the volcano.

I was whit my brother in Cartagena and we decide to get the tour to the vulcano. The price was a bit expensive but we thought it will be worth that and it wasn't. There is no explanation from the guide about the vulcano and when you arrive there you need to give extra money for things (like taking pictures) that I though they will be already in the cost of the tour. A bit disappointed but the experience it's nice
