Know More about this tour

Located in the heart of a beautiful valley and surrounded by high mountains ranges, My Son is one of the most stunning sights to see in Central Vietnam and only around 80 kilometers from Da Nang city. Whilst excavating My Son, letters found revealed that this complex has been used for offerings and worship of the Hindu god since the 4th century. In 1999, UNESCO declared My Son a Unesco World Heritage Site. The My Son Sanctuary is a remarkable architectural ensemble that developed over a period of ten centuries. It presents a vivid picture of spiritual and political life in an important phase of the history of South-East Asia. Originally built with wood, the temples in My Son were completely destroyed by fire in the 6th century and restored in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman who rebuilt the temples with locally made bricks. Up to the 13th century, more than 70 similar temples were built, establishing My Son as a sanctuary of Hinduism in the Champa Kingdom.

This was a very interesting tour and worth seeing. It’s unique. I’ve never heard of the Champa Empire and was very interested to learn more about it. Our tour guide was a very interesting person. One piece of constructive advice would be to talk more about the temples, point out unique things, and explain them.

We were amazed by My Son. The guide added to much to our understanding of it. He was excellent! And after the tour, we asked for a restaurant recommendation and they dropped us off at the most amazing place!

The guide was nice and helpful. The trip is quite short, you see only My Son (museum, only the main site and a dance show). If you want to see more consider your own transport, then you have more time and you can see all the sites (they are quite similar, though). When you are there there is a short drive with an electric car and then short walk to the main site - this is very doable with small children. Drive from Danang is about 1h.

My Son is we’ll worth visiting. A very old site that has thankfully been preserved. The tour went well with our guide and driver arriving on time. Plenty of useful information from our guide throughout the day. My son is well set up and not overly touristy buggies take you from the entrance to the site 2ks and obviously return. From there you can please yourself as to where you go. Having a guide helps explain some things on site Signage is a bit limited

Really enjoyed our half day trip to My Son Sanctuary. Recommend if you’re looking for a unique, historical trek while in Da Nang. The organization didn’t provide much information until they called the night before to confirm the pickup time. However, everything ended up going smoothly. Our guide, Snow, was very informative and did a great job explaining the history to us.
