What is "Soul Food"

Soul Food is traditional African American cuisine that originated in the South in the United States. Today it has become a highly sought after cuisine. Are the tours wheelchair friendly?

With advance notice, wheelchair bound customers with some mobility can be accommodated in the front rows of the tour bus with their wheelchairs folded away in the luggage compartment. It is mandatory that someone accompany customers with special needs to assist them onto the coach.

For passengers with no mobility or a non foldable wheelchairs we recommend giving at least 3 weeks notice so that we can secure a coach with a wheelchair lift.

Private tours are available with accessible ramp transportation.

Many of the churches that we visit have steps. In order to accommodate their wheelchair bound congregation members churches use portable mobility ramps.

What a fantastic way to spend Sunday morning. It was a big tour 57 on our bus, it was also bilingual English and Italian. Our guide Anthony, was great managing both effortlessly. His knowledge and stories about New York were great, showing us different parts of Harlem before heading to the church. The "hour of power"was lovely, great singing, all of the soloist were outstanding and we were welcomed with open arms and hearts. Very enjoyable!

The tour was amazing. It was well organized and our guide, Damien, was knowledgeable, patient and appeared to enjoy his job. He had great interaction with the group. He is definitely an A+ guide. The church congregation was friendly and welcoming, and the choir was outstanding. The luncheon after the service at the iconic Cotton Club was only rivalled by the music trio and the guest singer. We learned about the history or Harlem and the surrounding districts. We highly recommend this tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Sheila was very knowledgeable, I learned a lot about Harlem. The visit to the church service was a wonderful experience, very emotional. Lunch at the Cotton Club was very nice...plenty of fried chicken and some good entertainment. I will definitely go back to explore Harlem and I would recommend this tour.

Very excellent tour...not to missed...our tour guide Alvin was the best, brunch at the Cotton Club was scrumptious.

The singers were great, but the church was very tired and there were only about 5 people in the congregation, which was very disappointing. It seemed that the church is more interested in donations than getting people in to see their culture. We were asked for two contentions while we were there and we was only there about 45 minutes and they only sung 4 songs. We were really looking forward to this tour, but do feeling a little disappointed.

While the bus driver drove excellently, and the guide was educational, there was nothing of any added value extra the gospel service..there were 2 full bus loads that went to the church (even one bus load of 52 is way too large) therefore once in the 2nd floor pews there was little to witness. The music and singing and service was very humbling though.. wouldnt do this unless in a small group

Was good and would do it again. Would like to have seen some of the old area as well as the new. A little more of where movies are filmed.

Wow, what a day. Mega mega thanks to the congregation of the Greater Highway Deliverance Temple in Harlem New York for welcoming us into their church. This is how everybody should be in church, what a celebration of God and Jesus. A must for everyone. Very kind and passionate people. The singing, dancing and the sermon, very inspirational. Thanks again.

A great tour. Very interesting. A lot of history. The church service was amazing (just think 'Blue Brothers'). We had a soul-food brunch afterwards at the Cotton Club. The food was not cordon-bleu, but very tasty, and the entertainment was brilliant. Please note that these tours are in several languages, so you will have to listen to the tour in 2 languages.

Did not know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. Perfect day weather wise the church we went to was so welcoming. It was so great to witness how another faith celebrates their religion. Our guide was very informative about the various sites and history attached to the area. Worth the ticket!!
