We did this tour with another couple on a cold wintery day. Our guide Bill was a lecturer in Scottish history and wore his clan’s tartan garment during the tour. His tales on the Culloden Battlefield really brought the Jacobite history alive (I wasn’t looking forward to visiting the battlefield, but it turned out to be one of the highlights). The highlands are spectacular and our stop at a Scotch distillery was a plus. All in all, a very worthwhile tour.

We had booked the Culloden tour for a Monday. Happy Tours contacted me prior to the date inquiring if we could go Tuesday instead. That worked for us and we agreed. Unknown to me was that the Tuesday tour was the Isle of Skye tour. We enjoyed the tour but would have gone to Culloden on our own had we known the tour had changed. The tour operator should have been clear on the change

We had a great day with Bill MacDonald on our trip that included a scotch distillery and visit to several places all of you Outlander fans will recognize and love. Bill made the places come alive and was great at giving the ‘story behind the story’. It was well worth it! We left at 9am and we’re back by 6pm.

I absolutely loved this tour. Our guide, Tony, was great. He gave lots of information and went out of his way to make sure we got fantastic photos.

Bill was our guide and his knowledge of Scottish history and current social and political climate as well as his story telling abilities made this tour such a success! I could not have imagined a more moving and overwhelming visit to Culloden than the one Bill organized for us. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide, Alan, made this tour the most fun and memorable out of all the tours we've been on in Scotland the past 2 weeks.
Alan is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing Scotland's history.
Many details made the day very special including his great sense of humour, Scottish music, and spectacular views of the countryside.
    Thank you, Alan!

I highly enjoyed this tour Gordon, our guide and driver, was friendly and knowledgeable. 4 out of 5 as I felt a bit rushed in the afternoon when we arrived in Culloden and Clava Cairns which were the sites that everyone wanted to visit and my main reason for choosing this tour. We did managed to see all of it but as mentioned I felt a bit rushed at the end. Maybe as Culloden and Clava Cairns are the main sites, they should be visited in the morning. Whilst I enjoy Beauly priory I would have gladly skipped that for more time in Clava Cairns.

This was our first day in Inverness and it was an amazing start. Drew was a wonderful host, with vast knowledge of the area and it’s history. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to spend the day seeing all the beautiful spots and history the Highlands has to offer.
