We planned on this tour and rushed across town to meet the guide in time. When we arrived there was someone there to inform us there was no guide! Could have contacted us beforehand. Disappointing. We did get a refund.

Christine was great Truly knowledge able about the beautiful art in the Musee D'Orsey. Small group made for better ability to get up close to some of these masterpieces. The museum was quite crowded but she expertly wove a path for us through the crowds.

Cristina did a fantastic job! She explained the context of what was going on in the art world prior to and during the rise of the Impressionism movement. Her level of discourse was very approachable for someone who appreciates art but isn’t an art aficionado. Of course, a 2-hour tour is way too short to see everything in such a rich museum, but Cristina took us to all of the most important pieces that we had seen listed in numerous articles. So I highly recommend this tour as a good primer for this museum. Finally, I really appreciated the small group (6-person) experience. It felt so much more personal than the 20-person groups that were travelling along side us.

Gabriella was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of the time leading up to and including the Impressionist period. She had helpful photos on her iPad that helped to set the scene. It was fantastic.

First off, I felt this tour was over priced relative to PHDs in art history that offer their services on Airbnb experiences, however, they were all sold out so I gave the tour a try. Without sounding like an awful human being (because I know everyone tries their best), this tour was in no way up to par. In discussing with fellow tour members we were completely lost by the structure of the presentation when we approached each art piece (the tour guide didn’t start with consist descriptives, background of artist, anectodal stories about paintings, why the painting might be famous, etc). It was always approached as if the audience had already read half a book on the painting and the tour guide picked up to read aloud on page 251 about one obscure or complex element and stopped at page 255. No one had a clue of what was going on. It became quite clear and obvious that reading information of the placards beside certain paintings was far more informative and a better approach to learning anything. I’m embarrassed to say I left the tour three quarters in because I wanted to go back and learn something about the paintings by reading the placards. I also had the opportunity at that time to listen in to a few other tour guides that were operating in the museum and I can tell you the content was totally different from what our tour guide was saying (and a lot more clear). I would not recommend this tour.

Giovanna, as an art history professor at the Sorbonne, gave a 5 star tour of the Musee d’Orsay. We really appreciated her passion and insight - and jt was lovely to be expertly guided through the highlights of the museum before spending some more time on our own after the tour

Cristina gave us an amazing tour! We feel truly enlightened after this experience! Awesome route from classical, neo-classical to impressionists and modern art of the 19-20th century.
