Know More about this tour

Leaving from "Doca do Espanhol", we wait for the harbour's turning bridge to open on our passage. Depending on tide and wind, we hoist sails or cruise to Belem, where you can admire most of Lisbon munuments, like Museum of Art Architecture and Technology, Presidential Palace, Monument of Discoveries and the statues of the Portuguese who played the major role on the Discoveries, UNESCO world heritage Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower, Modern Art Museum and Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral seaplane, that took them across the Atlantic Ocean.
On Belem Tower, our favourite Lisbon Monument, we turn back to Commerce Square and Alfama. On the way, you can admire Christ the King, our Golden Gate Bridge and the views of Lisbon's main neighbourhoods, like Madragoa, Bairro Alto, Chiado, Cais do Sodr, as well as the southern shore of the Tagus with it's industrial ports and old warehouses, while enjoying a sparkling wine and nibbles.
We reach Ribeira das Naus and another story of Lisbon is revealed, the 1755 earthquake and reconstruction of the City. The view of Commerce Square and Alfama from the Tagus river is something you can never imagine. You have to be there and feel the colours of Alfama.
Time to drop sails and get back to port, enjoying the view of the tug boats and clippers, at the entrance of the harbour.
Leaving Halcyon I behind, is the most dificult part of the cruise.

  • We took this tour on our first day in Lisbon and it was truly the best way to get to know the city. The boat is run by father and son, both very very kind and generous people. Sparkling wine and appetizers were included in the price as well as very good guidning from the father about the places we passed. The boat is fantastic itself and we very much enjoyed the trip. You can sit outside or inside depending on what you feel for. We started off with the engines running but later sails were set. Cannot think of a better way to start a Lisbon visit. Thank you from very pleased customers.

  • We wanted to get an impression of Lisbon on a short visit and this was an excellent way to relax and learn about the local history. Luis our captain was knowledgeable and gave us a well balanced mix of attention the history and time to chill alone. A glass of fizz and some tasty nibbles went down well as the sun set. Lovely and highly recommended

  • Fantastic boat trip with an interesting and caring guide. A very pleasant way to spend an evening. The best thing I did in Lisbon!

  • Our family arrived in Lisbon on the 31st around mid-day. We checked into our hotel and headed to the Lisbon docks by cab in the late afternoon. The docks are lively with joggers and tourists walking along the wharf. There are several small restaurants and clubs next to the marina. The historic boat tour exceeded our expectations. It was a lovely older sailing boat, whose captain has been lovingly refurbishing for five years. Our family of three was joined by just one young couple, and we had a wonderful time viewing historic and modern Lisbon from the water. Our host and his young son both sailed our boat, and served us light snacks and wine while pointing out all of the important landmarks on our sail, as we watched the sunset over the harbor. It was a great way to be introduced to Lisbon on our very first day!

  • Well worth doing this trip as it gives a different perspective on Lisbon, boat was interesting, food was ok.

  • The boat ride was wonderful. The owner gave us a lot of history regarding Lisbon. The snacks and drinks were nice. The only problem was finding which dock the boat was located. The taxi took us to the wrong place and we wandered around a bit.
At the end of the trip the owner called for taxis for us and waited by the road with us until they taxis picked us all up. Very kind of him.

  • Wonderful tour! The boat is in great condition and is expertly sailed by a father/son team. We received a wonderful overview of Lisbon's tourist attractions, including information about some of the sites that generally aren't included in the most popular guidebooks. Thanks again!

  • Wonderful experience sailing the Tagus at sunset. The captain and his crew were friendly and very knowledgeable. It was great to be able to ask questions about Lisbon and life in Portugal. Be sure to bring a jacket as it can be quite chilly! Blankets were provided, but many of those without jackets spent most of the cruise in the cabin and missed the scenery!
Sparkling wine was very nice. The food served was a very light snack, and the experience may be just slightly overpriced due to this point. Still, I heartily recommend this activity for visitors to Lisbon.

  • Extremely friendly and capable crew! The Champagne and snacks provided were delicious. Easy to find and communicative. Highly recommend to all who want to have a relaxing time cruising along the river.

  • Best experience ever for a larger group!!!!!
