Know More about this tour

Start your city tour with a visit to the Temple of literature. Originally built in honor of Confucius by King Ly Thai Thong in 1070, a university was added to the grounds six years later. The university provided education to the royal family and children of the aristocracy or "mandarins". The University remained here until King Gia Long moved the countrys administrative capital from Hanoi to Hue at the beginning of the 19th century.

Drop in to a traditional teahouse to taste some of the best Vietnamese flavored green teas, and listen to thousand-year-old stories explaining the significance of tea leaves to local cultures. Tea is even better when served with some authentic snacks such as sweetened lotus seeds and green bean cake.

Continuing on our Hanoi tour, well head to the Hoa lo prison museum. Used by French Colonists for political prisoners till 1954 and later by North Vietnam for American POWs, the prison complex was nicknamed the Hanoi Hilton by American pilots during Vietnam War.

Our next stop will be the largest and oldest church in Hanoi. St Josephs Cathedral was built in 1886 with an architectural style often compared to the Notre Dame in Paris, this Gothic Revival church is not only a religious site, but is also a popular photo shoot backdrop for local teenagers.

Well continue to the heart of Hanoi - the Hoan kiem lake, with its magnificent The Huc Bridge and Ngoc son temple. Experience the spiritual harmony of different religions coexisting in the same place. You may then continue your own exploration of the area or our tour guide will assist you in getting a taxi back to your hotel.

Realy enjoyed our Guide Cuong Tran Duy. He had a great sense of humor and introduced us to many of the important sights of Hanoi. We enjoyed being invited to to visit a traditional Teahous to sample different teas, a lunch of Pho lunch in neighborhood restaurant. The most impressive was being able to stroll the angent grounds of the university at the Temple of Literature and hear about its history. This tour is recommended for seniors as you travel in comfort by A/C car or minibus. Would definately recommend this tour. Roland, USA PS Cuong Thank you very much.

Chinh was really lovely. He took us to some temples, tea houses, museum, local food places and also to a beautiful local shop. He explained the history of the places and it was really heart breaking to hear about the history of the places but so happy to see how much they have grown. The food places he brought us to was so yummy. We had many wonderful conversations on philosophy and the way of life. It was definitely a recommended and memorable experience

Just finished my morning/half day city tour of Hanoi and couldn't be happier. My guide Chinh was excellent, very personable and extremely knowledgeable of the history and loved sharing it with me! Despite the intermittent rain and being the only one on the tour, the company came through and Chinh delivered a great trip. I feel lucky for the private experience and the weather from the aftermath of the typhoon was even peaceful. Don't miss out on this experience, it will not disappoint, not to mention the Pho bo lunch was the best I've ever had, and this was marks my 4th trip to Vietnam (1st time in Hanoi)!

We took the Morning Highlights Tour a few days ago. Our guide, Victor, was really informative and took the time to ensure we had enough information at each of our stops. I thought we would need to walk more so was pleasantly surprised, as it was a very warm humid day, that we had coach transport between the places of interest. Victor took us to a secret cafe after our tour had finished for those of us who wanted to experience Vietnam’s famous Egg Coffee . . . Mmm! A great tour Victor and Urban Adventures.

Nice way to see the main highlights of Hanoi. We were only 3 in the group making the journey really personalised and fun. Mike (My) was our guide and he was beyond good. Did a really good Explanation of the main sites as well as answer pretty much every question we had on Hanoi and Vietnam. Thanks to him I had a better understanding on the Vietnam War. Really would recommend it to anybody passing by Hanoi.

A great way to orientate to the city. Our guide Mike was an incredible source of knowledge and provided us with the history of the city. He taught us how not to die when crossing the road and could answer any question we asked. Enjoyable way to spend the morning.
