Know More about this tour

Discover the Old Town of Hoi An after the sun has gone down not only is it the best way to escape the midday heat, its also the perfect excuse to dig in to its tasty street food scene!

Your Hoi An food tour starts around sunset, and will walk you through local cafes, food stalls, markets, and restaurants, giving you a filling food adventure for the memory books.

First up a local bakery that has been making the tastiest banh mi in town for over twenty years. They use the freshest local ingredients and are famous for their banh mi, a scrumptious sandwich that will fire up your taste buds and get them ready for the flavours ahead!

From one local fave to another, next you'll join locals at a small eatery, taking a seat on the ubiquitous small plastic chairs and sampling tasty BBQ pork rolled with rice paper and fresh herbs. Served with typical soy dipping sauce, this dish is one of the highlights of the local food scene and an absolute must-devour.

Your food tour of Hoi An continues into the atmospheric heart of the city as we head straight for the central market. What awaits us there are hundreds of street hawkers and food stalls selling a staggering array of local produce, including fresh noodles, sweet jelly, seasonal fruits, and live seafood. Your knowledgeable local guide will walk you through the colorful array of ingredients, filling you in on the most popular dishes in Hoi An and the significance of these foods to the traditional culture of central Vietnam.

From here, youll dig even deeper into the local food scene, passing through a maze of tiny alleys to emerge at one of our fave (secret) restaurants in Hoi An, where youll sample two of Hoi Ans specialties: deep fried wonton and white rose dumplings.

Believe it or not, theres more food to come! Your Hoi An food tour continues to a street vendor where a plate of chicken rice awaits. Be sure to save space, though, as you still have yet another treat in store: it cake for dessert in a locals home. Sweet, non?!

Youll finish our Hoi An food adventure at a local cafe near the iconic Japanese covered bridge, which is the perfect spot to conclude our culinary escapades. Top off the tour with a Vietnamese coffee or beer, take in the gentle pace of our beloved Hoi An, and reflect on your fave dishes of the evening (if you can pick!).

    • We had a very enjoyable evening with our Guide Thi Bong Pham. We enjoyed the sites and tried places to eat that we would not have found or ventured on our own. The food was very authentic Vietnamese, very tasty and of a lot of different varieties and venues. We also got to enjoy various areas of the old quarter that we would not have explored on our own. They catered to our dietary requirements. Don't hesitate to try the adventure.

    • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our foodie tour with Vu. He was a very knowledgeable guide with good English and gave us an excellent insight to the Vietnamese people and their culture. We liked being part of a group and sharing stories amongst each other. Each food stop was a different experience and we would never have tried some of the dishes or found the restaurants down dark alleys on our own. Finishing up at the river was a great way to end a great experience. As another reviewer pointed out, it would be helpful to be given a list and addresses of each place visited on the night so we could find them again another time. Arrive hungry and enjoy!

    • Great value for money sampling some of the culinary delights that hoi an has to offer. The guide was informative and it was great to be taken off the beaten track.

    • Great host! Really took care of everyone. The food selection was nice and they were all dishes that are special in Hoi An. The only tiny thing they could improve on is maybe give the guests a list of the names of the restaurants they have visited. We wanted to go back to the same place for dinner the next day but could not because there was no way we could remember how to get there, with so many bends and alleys. All in all, really good for value and a fun experience!

    • This is a great tour! Lovely time walking the streets of Hoi An in the evening and it introduces you to some lovely local cuisines to enjoy the rest of your trip. Our guid Tran was lovely!

    • An excellent inside to foods in the region and recommendations to try out various places.

    • Great Guide and amazing food, really do get taken to places you wouldnt have found yourself.

    • Only one other person was on our tour as 3 did not arrive-our guide was lovely but I was disappointed with the actual tour after having been on 2 previous ones. I was hoping for some information on the places we stopped at and our guide walked very quickly with the other member in front of us and we two walked at the back not hearing anything that was said.Could have done it by yourselves as Hoi An is so small.

    • This was an extremely good value for money trip that gave an interesting and enjoyable insight into Vietnamese food. We visited several local places and had the chance to sample many different dishes that were all excellent. Many of the places were off the main street and we would not have found them without our excellent tour guide, who gave a great insight into local cooking methods and tasty dishes. we had plenty to eat on the tour and did not need to eat out at the end of the night as we were both full after sampling some great local dishes.

    • Guide was delightful and food was the best.
