For a tour of Hoover Dam from Las Vegas, the thing that can vary from company to company is primarily the experience of the journey to and from the dam. The actual tour of the dam is conducted by dam personnel, and the boat ride on Lake Meade is conducted by the boat operator.
That being said, we had a wonderful experience and a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable in both Las Vegas and Hoover Dam history, and filled our to and from journeys with interesting information. Once at the dam we had several photo stops, and time at the end to walk onto the dam. The tour of the inside was brief but informative.
The downside of the tour on this day was that the boat had mechanical problems and could not go out onto the Lake. As a result, the boat portion of our tour was cancelled, but this was not the fault of Sweetours. And, in fact, Sweetours gave each passenger a choice of a return trip to the boat (without the dam tour) the next day, or a refund for the boat portion of the tour. Many passengers opted for the return trip; we opted for the refund because we already had plans for the next day.

Really interesting day. Driver had a great deal of knowledge and the staff gave a lot of background and current information. Lunch on the Lake Mead cruise was a bit of a letdown although the cruise itself was interesting.

Terrible, went on Hover Dam tour, driver was good, after tour, cruise was cancelled, because of boat problems, no advance warning, no apology. Got $40 back from $103 tour price. Had to drive back office to get money, again, no apology. Took 2 hours to get back to hotel from Dam.

Had a great time touring Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Nice to not have to drive and just relax. Only negative thing I would say is our pick up was a little confusing with one not very nice driver picking us up and then getting another driver at our next stop. Bill C. was very nice. Lunch could be better on the cruise. Seating uncomfortable on the top of the boat where we had to eat without a table.

The driver was exceptional and the views were breath taking. Lunch food was non edible! On the return trip the driver had 15 stops to make. Not his fault, but the amount of time it took to get back to the hotel was excruciatingly painful!
