Nice museum to learn more about the monarch's horse guards, but was expecting a bit more for the £10 entry fee. We spend around 45 minutes and we felt was saw everything there was to see there. There was some interesting information about the horse guard and their history. The most interesting part for me was the short video about the soldiers' training. However, I was also expecting to see some horses, other than those outside the building. In fact, there were some horses there but they were behind a non-clear glass so you could barely see their outline.

Found this when looking for activities my brother would enjoy on our trip. As a horse lover, this was right up his alley. I was impressed! Educational, creatively put together, and fun. Only thing to make it better would be to meet a member of the guard and one of the famous horses.

A small museum with great exhibits. The entire history of the Household Cavalry is there, with photos, uniforms, live horses, medals, etc. Totally worth a visit.

The ticket seller did not offer us any audio guides. We only noticed when leaving that they were free and read a sign stating this. Disappointed that we were not offered these and obviously needed to ask.

The Household Cavalry Museum is small, but packed full of information. It is a decent visit for those who stop and enjoy the display. There is a hazy window to actually see into the horse stalls. Because the horses are a part of the military, the public is not allow to see them. Visit the Royal Mews, if you are interested in seeing the royal horses.

First visit was with a mate years ago, while I counted stitches per inch on bridles, she had a right Jolly old time checking out soldiers. Something for everyone. Visited again this summer with Mr. N as part of a trip to Trooping of the Colour. Loved it, made you feel proud to be British. Particularly poignant now, as it was turned out to be the last time the Colours would be trooped before the Queen.

So much history in the museum; the building itself; the uniform displays and what the different parts signify or are used for. Battle honours; medals won by individuals; paintings and other art forms depicting the cavalry at various times in its history. Practical examples with regard to cleaning uniforms, equipment, horse tackle. Good videos about training both recruits and horses. Actual horses and cavalrymen in the stable area. Interesting to learn how active service and ceremonial duties are all part of the commitment. A fascinating visit and well worth recommending to others.

Great museum, with plenty of information and pretty moving at times. Very rich in history. Friendly and helpful staff, too.

A highlight of our visit, as always. Both kids and adults spent over two hours in the museum after spending two hours outside watching Changing of the Guard. Seeing the horses being groomed and seeing the training equipment, videos and uniforms was a real delight.

Looking for something a little different to do in London, we decided to try this museum. It is not a big place - but they have packed a lot in. Situated on Horseguards Parade it is in a famous location in London. They were filming a war film of somesort on Horseguards when we visited which was a treat watching some filming and looking at the classic cars being used! The museum has a great selection of artifacts, uniforms etc from the regiment - giving a good history of them and the conflicts that they have taken part in over the years. If you are looking for something a bit different to your usual tourist fodder in London - give them a try!
