Know More about this tour

After pickup at your Reykjavik hotel, your day trip begins as you head out of the city toward Hsafell in Borgarfjrur. From there, start your ascent to the ice cap of Langjkull, the second-largest in Iceland.

Your 1-hour snowmobiling experience starts at the base at Jaki, situated on the west side of the glacier. Get ready by putting on the provided thermal suits with all of the necessary safety equipment, and listen to important instructions about how to operate the snowmobile from your guide. Then take off on the ice, following your guide across this enormous glacier as you soak up the remarkable surroundings.

Next, go down into the glacier itself on a tour to the man-made ice cave situated here. Your guide takes you on a journey deep within the glacier, where you have a chance to see thestunning blue ice and the chambers that have been carved out of it. Until very recently, what lies beneath the surface of Langjkull was a mystery, but sometimesbold ideas can come to life, and the realization of this man-made ice cave was onlypossiblewith help from top engineers and renowned geophysicists. Inside the glacier, where the temperature is usually around 32 Fahrenheit (0 C), you can see from the layers of ice how the glacier was formed.

After this, make your way back to civilization as you return to the small town of Hsafell. Following a day spent on the ice, you can chose between soak in the warming thermal swimming pool or see the famous waterfalls Hraunfossar and Barnafoss beforeheading back to Reykjavik. • Amazing experience, defiantly worth doing. Glad we did the snowmobile as well, it was cold but it's a once in a lifetime, bucket list activity for sure

  • It was a very informative tour given by the guide, we learnt so much about the Ice Glacier. The snow mobile was quite an adventure, although I wish the guide would pay more attention to the slower drivers, instead of speeding off all the time with the ones who knows how to ride already.

  • Once in a lifetime .snowmobile was about 15-20 to ice cave then ride back same.about 1hr or so in ice cave so very interesting. It may not be there in 5 or so years due to the glaciers changing so dont wait

  • This tour was an amazing one :) it was really informative and we had a blast on the snowmobile

  • We had a great time- snowmobiling on a glacier was definitely a first for us. The ice cave tour was fun and informative. Safety and comfort were a priority for the tour provider. We would definitely recommend this tour to others.

  • Incredible sites. Tour was on time and comfortable bus ride. The ice cave was great to see and experience and the snowmobiles were fun but too short of a ride and follow the leader was slow and boring. I was expecting that we would ride around a bit on the glacier and have the opportunity to enjoy the snowmobiles a bit more. Additionally, it would have been good if they allowed us to get closer the the blue part of the glacier so we can see it up close and take pictures.

  • Excellent way to get to the inside of the glacier. Very thorough safety briefing and extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff.

  • We had a great time. You have that out of this world feeling as you drive up the glacier and the wind is blowing so hard and the surroundings are just stark white for miles. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us safe.

  • You have to do it. I and #39;ve never seen so much snow but from the thrill of getting there and just trying to reach the base camp through a hole in the snow to descending into the ice. It was just surreal and naturally beautiful. No picture or description can capture it
