Day 1: Arrival
After settling in to your hotel in Reykjavik on day 1 you will meet your guide and other travellers in the group on the morning of day 2.
Day 2: The Golden Circle
Today we will start with a short Reykjavik city tour. Walk around downtown Reykjavik, explore the harbour and Hallgrmskirkja church. And later on that same day we will visit all the famous sights of the Golden Circle such as Gullfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir National Park.
Day 3: South Coast of Iceland
On the third day we will travel around the south shore of Iceland where we will hike towards a glacial tongue, explore black sand beaches and visit the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. And explore the history of Iceland in the Folk Museum of Skgar.
Day 4: Skafafell Area and the Glacial Lagoon
On the 4th day we head further east along the south coast where the highlights of the day will be a hike to Svartifoss waterfall and a boat tour on the Glacial Lagoon.
Day 5: East Iceland
Now we will head to beautiful coastal region of the East Fjords, with spectacular landscape, high mountains and deep fjords. That night we will stay in Modrudalur valley, the highest inhabited place in the country, at 469 m (1,539 ft) above sea level.
Day 6: Lake Myvatn Area
From Modrudalur we drive to the magnificent waterfall Dettifoss, Europe's mightiest waterfall. Then we will explore the Lake Mvatn area, one of the most interesting geological and geographical areas of the northern hemisphere. Among the interesting sights we will explore on this day is Leirhnjukur lava, still warm more than 30 years after the eruption, Nmaskar Geothermal Area, and the lava labyrinth Dimmuborgir.
Day 7: North Iceland
On the 7th day we will visit Goafoss, the waterfall of the Gods and then stop to explore the town of Akureyri, the biggest town outside of Reykjavik.
Day 8: The Snaefellsnes Peninsula
Then the tour continues around the Snaefellsnes peninsula and its magnificent glacier Snaefellsjokull. Among places that we visit are basaltic pebble beach, framed with strange lava formations, and Arnarstapi, where a short stroll along the coastal cliffs gives us access to the rich birdlife and other wonders of nature.
Day 9: Borgarfordur Area
We head to Reykjavik to close our circle. First stop is at the old volcano Grabrok where we take a walk to the top. There we continue to Hraunfossar (Lava waterfalls) and Barnafossar (Childrens waterfalls). Then we will visit Deildartunguhver, Europes water most hot spring. From there the tour goes directly to Reykjavik trough the Whale fjord (Hvalfjordur).
Day 10: Departure
Fly back home or enjoy extra nights in Reykjavik.
