The tour is great. The boat took me to the island and I got to enjoy 2-3 hours on the most beautiful island the only restaurant on the island is amazing. Everything is so nice and peaceful. Came back to the city on a different boat but it was perfect.
Our guide, Thomas, was knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the beautiful tour of the marshes and wetlands. We gained a new appreciation for the ecosystem and enjoyed gorgeous surroundings while spotting different birds and animals. Arriving at Ilha Deserta was then another fabulous treat after the boat tour. It's a gorgeous and serene area to explore, allowing one to experience the contrasts of oceanside and lagoonside. The restaurant on the island was also wonderful! We were so happy that we booked this excursion; it was a special day during our trip to Faro!
This was an incredible tour. Our tour guide Tom (Tom Cruise) was incredibly knowledgeable and interesting and clearly passionate about his work and the life of the Ria Formosa, which there is lots of! We saw a large range of incredible birds including birds of prey and some birds we had never heard of. Tom answered all of our questions and gave us great tips on where to book to see dolphins which we did the next day. You can see that Tom really cares about the wildlife and the natural park and it was a joy to be taught so much by him. Definitely recommend!
We hadn’t planned to visit Ilha Deserta but we notice it at their hut outside the castle. It was only €10 return for a 45 minute journey to Ilha Deserta. It was great value for money.
We had such a good time on this boat. Honestly I'm not a trip advisor person but I wanted to write this comment only because we had the best tour guide ever. Thanks Thomas for all the informations about the birds, the area, the jokes, and the good algarve traveling tips!
