  • We really enjoyed this trip. Our driver, David, was very friendly and knowledgeable. If you are interested in exploring all of Mount Vernon, however, there is a lot of walking. The wharf and the farm are a challenging downhill walk, and even more challenging going uphill to return to the visitors center. During April - October there is a shuttle that makes various stops making it easier to see all of the highlights Mount Vernon has to offer. Allow about an hour at the end of your visit to explore the museum, which is also very interesting. All in all it was a great trip and we recommend it although if we went again we would probably visit in the summe.r

  • Very interesting place to visit. Great trip. Bus driver was very informative throughout the tour of old town Alexandria, with many interesting facts about the area.

  • This was an excellent tour. Easy to find the travel office in Union Station and the tour was great. Well worth going on this tour and the driver was interesting.

  • Nice visit to Mount Vernon Just an on and off stop in Old Alexandria not enough time to really see anything Our bus driver on this trip was extremely RUDE to several guests He was not very informative or enthusiastic I certainly think everyone should see Mount Vernon just not with this particular driver

  • Such a good and informative tour! Loved our bus driver

  • Our driver, David Cooper was outstanding. Great tour and just the right amount of time to see everything.

  • It was good. I enjoyed Mt Vernon. I did have a problem understanding the driver's commentary due to his fast speech and strong accent.

  • Expecting more stops in Alexandria

  • The driver was good, we enjoyed the tour

  • The trip was simply a must, a thirty or so minute coach journey, then into the estate, to see Washington's tomb, remembering the history of the man, just wonderful. The tour of the house he spent so many years living in, and being able to touch and use the very handrail and stairway he had used so many times in his life was an honor and a privilege. The gardens were filled with such colour, and staff were dressed in periodical dress, the blacksmith shop continues to operate, and produce goods to sell in the gift shop. It was a pleasure to step back in American history, to the days of such a great man. Don't let this trip pass you by!
