Know More about this tour

It's hard to believe that only 3 miles (5 km) from Cambodia's capital city, there is an island oasis where one can take a bike ride at a gentle pace and discover a rural slice of the country. Your Silk Islands bike tour begins Phnom penh, where you'll meet your guide at the local tour shop and set off on your exploration.

Created by the flows of the Mekong River, the Silk Islands are isolated by a lack of bridges, but ferry connections provide easy access for villagers who use the fertile soil here to grow fruit and vegetables and weave silk and cotton between farming cycles. The absence of most four-wheeled traffic makes for a peaceful ride where you can almost forget that the hustle of a city is nearby.

Your riding route is mostly flat and easily achievable for anyone who can ride a bike, and your guide takes care to ensure a high degree of safety, making this a family-friendly experience. During your tour, enjoy many stops at pagodas, farms, and a silk-weaving demonstration. Lunch is included before transferring back to central Phnom penh.

Very nice professionals taking care of everything, we would do a tour with them again for sure. Location, provision, equipment, guides - everything was excellent.

I " enjoyed " it ending .Only then could I be alone & truly experience Cambodia .When you are in a group of other foringers any spontaneous situations are not genuine or uncensored . But. , , if your too frightened to ride a bike solo then the only other option is this ,and its not free.

The tour was 20km if I recall correctly, but it flies by. There were some great views of the city from the river ferry. You get to see lots of farmland and small villages just across the Mekong. Little kids run out and say "Hi! Hi! Hi!" as the you ride by and some of the braver ones will give you high five you as you ride by, it's adorable. Tour guide was super friendly and hooked us up with some delicious fresh fruit at the half-way point. Definitely remember your sun tan lotion for this one!

Our trip to the Mekong Island with Sovannary was nothing short of magical! He was a wealth of information and so patient with everyone. The cycling was easy enough, very little to no traffic to deal with and the bikes were in top notch condition. The ferry ride to begin our day was beautiful. Upon arrival we turned off the main road and headed into the local countryside. We learned about some of the staples of Cambodian cuisine, and even had the chance to taste some of their favorite fruits and cakes at our stop. The silk making process is fascinating and we were lucky enough to learn about it from a family who has been in the business for generations. It was a wonderful day full of education and beauty! A trip with Sovannary is a tirp you wont soon forget!

Nary was an excellent guide. Took care of me really well. I was the only one who signed up for that day so was lucky to get a private tour. Free water bottle given at start to hydrate u throughout the trip. Three ferry rides to see Mekong & Silk islands. Towards the end of the ride u’ll be greeted with an ice cold coconut & towel to wipe urself. Utterly impressed with this. Tuktuk waiting for you as well to ferry u for lunch and then back to the shop. Superb.

We started in the morning with our guide Vichet and à little group of 7 people including Vichet my wife and myself. It was really cool and not too hard to follow the speed. The cycling parts were made at 14 km per hour in average with regular stops during which Vichet made interesting comments about the Cambodian culture. Vichet is also very careful when cycling through the city at start and really helping the group going through the streets of Phnom Penh

We had a fantastic island tour of the Mekong islands, our guide VICHET was excellent, kept the group safe while riding, gave a lot of info and always answered any questions we had, he couldn’t have been any better. It’s a fairly flat and easy ride for anyone concerned about conditions and you take plenty of breaks along the route. Well worth the money and time if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh!

This tour was amazing! It was my first time with grasshoppers and I loved it. Our tour guide Nary was very professional, very good English and super friendly. He made us feel safe and comfortable all the time. The riding is not really tiring, and they bring you back to the city by car. The highlight for me was the silk farm visit, where we had the chance to know the whole proceses by locals (very nice people and great prices to buy real good silk). The lunch was very good too! Thanks Nary for making our day and our experience so nice!

The tour was enriching & fun. It was a great way to spend the morning outdoors & learn more about the culture of people living on the islands. Our guide Sovannary made the trip exciting by giving us a lot of information & keeping us entertained with his outgoing personality. It is a must-do tour which is very affordable.
