Know More about this tour

Leave Inverness and head southwest to Loch Ness, the legendary freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands. As you travel by minibus along the shore-side road, your expert guide will talk you through the myth of Nessie the fabled Loch Ness Monster. Stop at the wee village of Invermoriston to stretch your legs and see the delightful Thomas Telford Bridge.

Continue traveling through pretty glens like Glen Moriston, and then pass alongside the Five Sisters mountain range. Stop outside Eilean Donan Castle to admire its incredibly picturesque ruins sprawled across the banks of three spectacular lochs.

At the Kyle of lochalsh, cross the famous Skye Bridge to reach the Isle of Skye itself. First stop is at the islands second-largest settlement, Broadford, where youll visit a charming local inn for lunch (own expense). Then your tour of this beautiful island begins! Following the coastal road to Glen Suardal, pass the iconic Red Cuillin Hills and enjoy sweeping views of pretty Bla Bheinn (Blaven Mountain) from the village of Torrin.

Take a stroll with your guide around the banks of Loch Slappin one of Scotlands most photographed lochs. As you amble around this picturesque spot, your guide will indulge you in the local pastime of beachcombing scouting the shores for interesting rocks and fossils. After walking along the shores, enjoy a steep walk up Strathaird Peninsula to reach the tiny village of Egol. Spend time at leisure here, soaking up the stunning sea views across to Rum.

Your journey back passes the little island of Eilean Ban, home to a large colony of otters and a wealth of wildlife. The famous British writer Gavin Maxwell calls Eilean Ban home, and the wildlife here influenced his best-selling novel, Ring of Bright Water. Head back to Inverness via the village of Achnasheen and the dramatic Black Isle, arriving in the early evening.

This trip was really awesome! It was noticeable that the guide really was putting genuine effort in the tour. You got enough free time to see the sights at some places for a bit.

While its a long day, it was a great day. Kevin the bus driver was safe and very knowledgeable and passionate about what he was showing. The trip showed how spectacular the Scottish highland scenery was. I was tired at the end but it was a day worth it. A great trip

Alan, our tour guide, was excellent. He shared just enough history and facts to make an interesting day. He also was quiet for nice spans of time to give us time to enjoy the trip. We went to a lot of places but the timing was just right each place.

This was my second time on this trip, it was just as amazing as the first time, the tour guide was full of information and knowledge on the areas we passed through. The scenery was stunning even with occasional cloud and a little rain, there were plenty of stops for taking photos so that you are sat on the bus for too long. Perfect day!

Good tour, altough lots of driving. The views of the Highlands are great
Worth going. It would probably be better if we spent more time in the picture spots than in the town for lunch

I was expecting a long tiring day but it wasn't. The guide was very good, had many stops for photo shoots, to stretch a bit or for coffee. The landscape is breathtaking. Definitely worth the visit.

Tour was a bit disappointing. Was expecting to hear more historical facts and see more attractions but we pretty much rode on the bus and saw things from the window. The stops we did make were very rushed and places were crowded with tourists. I wouldn’t take another trip with this touring company.

I was not entirely pleased with this trip. The driver was not a chatty one and there were a lot of things he could have pointed out but didn't. I know this because I have taken this trip before, with a different company. Our drive through Skye was unsensational and we were rushed to get lunch in Portree. My daughter commented that she didn't feel she had even been there. We took the "northern": route there which is not the most scenic; I would have rather done it the other way around so that we could have slept on the way back - not much to see. Our Loch Ness stop was not an ideal spot - I have stopped before at a lovely place with a great view and a piper serenading the tourists. This time the stop was at the boat place and we had to walk through a tunnel under the highway to get to the loch, nothing much to see..

On top of my disappointment with the overall tour, I booked through Viator and found that I had paid a substantial amount more than if I had booked direct. I will not use again.

One side of the windscreen wiper was reported not working by the driver guide, only after the first 45 min of journey! We were driven to loch Carroon for his car service and his windscreen wipers resumed normal after spending 20 min there. On our way to isle of skye,we were told by the guide that we were actually not going to the coastline of skye. We were driven to Portree for lunch afterwards and missing all the important part of the tour to :old man of storr, lealt falls, kilt rock.
Indeed,we joined this tour to see the isle's stunning coastline and yet the tour provided by Viator today was totally disappointing!
