The mountain was super beautiful. I didn’t read the description well enough and was a little unprepared- make sure you’ve got good hiking shoes and a thick jacket. Even in my lack of preparedness, I had a great time! It was a challenging journey but absolutely worth it.

Incredible experience. The vulcano erupted while we were there. The guide knew a lot and was a very nice guy

I booked this last minute as I wanted to see the volcanoes and experience the awesome mountains around Mexico City and man it was worth it. I am not a very active person, and yet I was able to finish this hike (even though I was the last person in my group). The guide was very knowledgeable in the area and he was very helpful in getting our group to the summit. It is a relatively short hike (in case of you are super hiker) and is moderately difficult.

Rami was a great guide, the hike was beautiful! Some parts were more difficult but it’s not a very long hike, was about 2 hours out and back.

My wife and I are accomplished and experienced hikers and it was a wonderful day hike experience ! Our tour operator was able to accommodate us at the last minute. FYI, it is a very bumpy ride to the starting point 🙃Our guide, Fabrizio, made sure everyone was together and safe. At the end of the hike, we had a late lunch at a local roadside restaurant which served a delicious and filling meal. Our total elevation gain from the beginning of the hike to the end was 12089 to, 13885 feet. It doesn't seem like much but, at that elevation,it's very hard on the lungs due to the thin air. We had a perfect day for hiking, the temps were in the 50's to 60's Farenheit, with clear skies and, fantastic views of the Mexico City Valley. It was an excellent day to celebrate my 61st birthday and view the Mexico Valley as the Conquistadors first did in 1519 💚 This is not a hike for everyone If you're not in good shape or,don't know how your body will react to extreme elevations. If you're able to do it, it's worth the money and a wonderful outing ! Thank you Fabrizio!

Had a great time visiting the volcano. My partner and I are relatively new to these hiking experiences at high altitudes so it was a bit challenging but the guide waited for us and looked for us all the time. Met some very interesting people during the trip.

Had such a good time! Our guide (Ramy, truly the best) was super nice and accommodating to everyone. The views were awesome. Would recommend

In total, this trip from CDMX was 10 hours. We only spent 2.5 hours hiking, so do the math. What you are signing up for is long hours in a hot, crowded van and a few stops at roadside restaurants. Nobody in my group was happy, and you could tell. I don't like to give terrible ratings, but I cannot recommend this tour company to anyone. Overall it was uncomfortable and unexciting, and what cemented the 1-star ranking is that Amigo Tours was planning to fit 13 passengers in a van that seats 12 with very little wiggle room. Luckily, the last person did not show up or we would've had a very big problem. Our tour guide was unphased by this idea, and generally seemed oblivious to how awful the journey was for passengers (he was comfortable in the front seat). We regretted going on this tour immediately, even though the hike itself is lovely. I've done similar tours where the guests are treated much better. This one is just a bad time. I guarantee it.

Great one day trip with beautiful views! The guides took their time to pace the group and explain the surroundings. It is a short walk but due to the altitude would recommend acclimatising at Mexico City for a few days beforehand.

You want to see a pretty volcano? You want do a lil hiking on aforementioned volcano? You down with a no frills tour? This one's for you. I am a big Planner, I like to know details, how to dress, what to bring, what to expect. I found the tour completely lacking in this regard, so I hope this review will help the obsessive review-readers like myself to be prepared. Clothing: I went in December, and it was chilly, but not frigid. I'd guess 40s, maybe 30s. You can get away with a single pair of warm pants/leggings, thick socks, hiking/trail shoes, a flannel, and a jacket. I brought VERY WARM CLOTHES like I was entering a winter wonderland and ridiculously overpacked. Food: we went to a restaurant on the way back, approx 4 or 5pm. Recommend packing food for breakfast, lunch, hiking snacks, as well as ample water. I took 1 big water bottle and wish I had two. Altitude: hike starts at approx 4000m and goes to 4200m or so. I'd call it a moderate hike in the US, but at that altitude it is ROUGH. I flew in from sea level the day before and let me tell you that was not ideal. I still had a fabulous day, just something I wish they mentioned in the tour. Guide: the guide is an alpinist, not a chatty tour guide. He'll get you where you need to go, he is nice and happy to answer questions, but don't expect Tour Guide Style logistical details or interesting facts/tidbits along the way. Did I have a great day? Absolutely. It made it very logistically simple for me to go get a cool volcano and nature day in! Just be aware the tour matches the price point: it's no frills but does the job!!
