Know More about this tour

On this 2 hour Jack the Ripper Tour, you will get to explore how an Autumn of Terror in 1888 can still send a shiver down your spine to this very day.

The discovery of a body on 31 August 1888 in Londons East End set in motion one of the most famous manhunts in criminal history. For over 120 years, Ripperologists and amateur sleuths have been trying (and failing) to discover the identity of the man known as Jack the Ripper!

Throughout the Jack the Ripper Tour, you will explore the historical background of the Whitechapel murders and their passing into a genre almost in their own right. We will examine how public perception of these gruesome but gripping murders has been shaped and compare that to the reality of 1888.

  • What can I say! Adrian was an amazing tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and witty. I would highly recommend this tour. It’s great for those who don’t know much, or know a lot and want to get right where the murders all took place. Adrian sucks you into the history and mystery.

  • Loved our tour guide! The tour was very interesting and definitely left you feeling like you were in the time period of Jack the Ripper! Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting London!

  • We weren't able to go do to rain. But I wish we could've.

  • Good tour very informative and knowledgeble tour guide

  • This was a well researched tour with our guide. She was so knowledgeable and had all the answers to our questions. Highly recommend!

  • I recommend this walking tour for anyone interested in learning about the topic and an insite into what it was like to be poor in the late 1800's.

  • Very interesting and the tour guide was knowledgeable. The only issue worth mentioning, was that she walked rather fast and didn't hold up any kind of a sign, so the people in the back of the group couldn't easily see where she was up ahead. Due to the size of the group and the fact that other people on the sidewalks were mingling in with the group, it meant some of us had trouble seeing where she was and I was concerned she might turn and we might lose sight of her.

  • This is a really great walking tour. Our host was Philip not Phil or Phillip who has actually written and had published a book on Jack the Ripper. His presentation was very entertaining as he walks you through the backstreets of the East End of London. You get a good outline of what it would have been like to live in London during that era. Obviously with the perils of development and the ravages of time most of the buildings have been pulled down and the sites redeveloped but Philip really makes up for this with his clearly reliable and in-depth knoweldge. The grade is easy and the pace is good. We really enjoyed ourselves.
