I booked the Jazz Fest Concert Series and Fish Fry through Trip Advisor before leaving for New York from Australia. I was also booked to stay in Brooklyn, so I thought this would be a good way to start off my trip for my first Saturday night in New York. I'm so glad I did, as this was a very entertaining night in an intimate surrounding at a B and B accommodation in historical Brooklyn. The hosts and other guests were friendly, and we were treated to some great jazz throughout the night by the house musicians. A fish fry meal served during the nights proceedings so this was good value. Being a jazz enthusiast, the opportunity to play with the house musicians at the end of the night just added to the overall experience. A great night that I will hold in my memory for some time to come. If you are a music fan, I thoroughly recommend going to this if you want to experience something a little bit different while visiting New York.

This series was perhaps the best part of our trip! The jazz series is held in a charming bed and breakfast in Bedford-Stuyvesant, a part of our NYC travels we have never before visited. The setting is intimate, the hostess wonderful, and the mood reminiscent of a bygone, speakeasy era. We would highly recommend this off-the-beaten-path experience to those not seeking the stereotypical visit to the Big Apple. We hope to not only enjoy this venue again we plan to stay at the B and B!!

We were there on the Saturday evening of of the MLK holiday weekend and it couldn't have been better. Imagine having highly talented jazz musicians in an ornate and original Brownstone parlor with a couple dozen people for a party. That's what it's like. Walk up the stoop and into the front hall to see people greeting us from the room at the end. Then share some wine and conversation with your host, the artists, and other guests for the evening. Walk into the parlor and be treated to jazz in the tradition of greats like Davis, Monk, Ellington, and so many others. You'll hear about the background of music and the people who made it great. I don't like fish - but the fish fry, slaw, and cornbread were terrific!

We had a lovely time. The jazz was great and the atmosphere was just as nice.
