Know More about this tour

You will depart Sigatoka Town in a comfortable air conditioned mini coach with your safari guide. From this time until you reach the Sigatoka River Safari jetty, your driver & guide will bring the region to life by explaining the rich history of the area and the history of the villages along the Valley Road while you take pictures, if you wish.

Upon arrival at your safari departure point in Nakaracia, your safari jet boat captain & operations Team will welcome you into the jungle. There are restrooms available and lockers for safe keeping of bags and change of clothes. You will be provided with life jackets & receive a safety briefing by your jet boat captain before heading up river into the "Heart & Soul of Fiji".

During the safari jet boat experience, you will be enthralled by commentary stops along the river in which you will see and hear from the people about how their ancestors lived during the days of cannibalism and warfare. This will also include insights into modern day Fijian living.
After some 45 minutes on the mighty Sigatoka River, you will arrive at your designated village, where upon meeting your village guide, you will be taken into your village, treated to the age old custom of presenting the 'sevusevu' or traditional Fijian offering which includes the kava ceremony and you are then able to taste Kava. During this interaction you will be engaging with the people of your village including the chief of the village, villageelders and children.

After this welcomingceremony, your village guide will lead you around the village, where you will be able to ask questions about life in the village, life in Fiji and its rich culture and traditions.

Your time in the village will include a delicious Fijian lunch and entertainment by your new friends before boarding the safari jet boatfor your homeward journey, which includes a few gentle manoeuvres (Sigatoka Spins - 360 degrees). Please note that you will have the option to partake in the Sigatoka Spins and if you opt not to then you will be taken back to the jetty. The captain will then head out with the remaining guests to perform the signature spins.

Our trip was at the Very Very end of the dry season, October 4th/5th, and had a great time with the Village tour and the guides information regarding the flooding during the wet season, local customs and points of interest during the trip.

What an incredible trip, I would highly recommend it was so much fun as well as interesting. There was 6 of us in total and all of us said we would do it again. Very organised from the minute we got picked up from hotel to being dropped off. Captain Leps was brilliant, giving us so much information to thrills and spills on the boat. Being welcomed into the village and to see how they live was an eye opener. So friendly and lots of fun dancing after lunch. A fantastic trip 🌟

My husband and I had an amazing experience on this tour. We enjoyed the outdoors, learned about the culture by visiting a village and it was super fun! Our tour guy and captain Josh aka Captain Jack, was knowledgeable and made us feel like family. Love it!

It was beyond our expectations! Well-worth every minute and the price. The scenic drive to the river from our hotel was most enjoyable. Once at the river, Captain Lep did an awesome job of navigating us down the river in our speed boat and sharing what life is like living in the villages. The experience of seeing how people live in the village was both humbling and wonderful. We were guests in their home and they treated us well. The kava ceremony, lunch, and entertainment made for a very full experience. I definitely would recommend this ecursion.

Fantastic trip and experience. Highly recommended. Very informative and local village experience was unforgettable. Captain Jack was exceptional with the boat and 360’s on the boat and the young fella was blown away. A trip never to be forgotten thank you.

My husband and I enjoyed the jet boat ride a lot! The best part was seeing the beautiful scenery along the river. The lunch served by the women of the village was very good. The only thing I wasn’t sure about was the tribe men were wearing the same sarong we were given at the store the tour bus stopped at. At the end of the cava ceremony our tour guy asked for a gift to thank the village. He wanted a cash donation. When we took a tour of the Village I had a feeling that no one lived in the village it’s just for the tourist!!
