An amazing tour to places I’d only heard of. The swim at Edith Falls was truly worth it and the Katherine Gorge was spectacular. No picture does it justice. .
A very long day but we'll worth the visit really enjoyed the cruise down the Katherine gorge, and an awesome lunch, guide was very informative great job
We rated 1out of 5 because I couldn’t rate it any lower! We were left standing by the side of the road, missing the experience!
Although a very long, hot day, I’d recommend this tour, no worries. The Coach driver/tour guide, did a brilliant job, lots of local information and also mini movies about the area in between. Edith Falls was beautiful, you can go for a swim. Lunch at Katherine Gorge was delicious and plentiful-had our first try of Crocodile meat! The boat through the Gorge was wonderful, the photos can never do it justice. You take a boat cruise, then hop off and walk 450 metres, if you don’t think you can, or can’t, you don’t have to do that part. Thoroughly enjoyed both the boat cruises, it was a very hot day, the walk between boats was 450 metres, both ways. My one tip would be take Hydralite in tablet form with you, break in half and put 1-2 in water, you will sweat absolute buckets, and easy to feel unwell in days like that. I’m not giving medical Advice, read the label for instructions. Brilliant trip we won’t forget.
Loved swimming at Edith Falls to cool off on the way to Katherine Gorge. The cruise along the gorge was exceptional and everyone on board had the chance to take great photos from wherever they were sitting. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hike between gorges Long restful drive home after an incredible day exploring!
Really loved the day trip with AAPT KINGS tours to Katherine Gorge, albeit a 14 hour day. Hey, it beats driving there. Phil our driver was lovely and information. His local knowledge was extensive. Visited Adelaide River Military cemetery, immaculate gardens there. Then to Edith Falls for a wonderfully refreshing swim. Great! Onto a buffet lunch and then off on the boat cruises on the gorge. A short walk between the gorges was not too strenuous but it was 40C and a full on sunny day. Hot on the rocks. As long as you drink plenty of water you are ok. The scenery was fantastic. Panoramic and serene. No crocs to be seen but you could see tracks in the sand on the beaches along the way. There are signs to alert the public that crocodiles are nesting too. 🐊🐊🐊 Back on the bus then drove to Howard Springs to feed some very hungry Barra. They were plenty of them and big ( approx 450cm). Strictly no fishing there. The thought did cross my Ming though. Then off to Adelaide River for a dinner break and back to Darwin. Really good day all round. Totally recommend this tour if you don’t have the time to stay overnight.
Katherine gorge & Edith falls were amazing. Our tour guide was very informative and got us on time to each stop
We Had a wonderful tour guide / driver that made sure everything ran smooth and on time, Fantastic day tour if your short on time, the Gorges are just breath-taking.
What a fantastic long day visiting firstly the immaculately kept war museum ,waterfalls for a swim, great lunch and plenty of it and then the cruise down the gorge. There is a 550m walk between gorges to change boats with a chance to look at some ancient aboriginal artwork. Special thanks to Libby our extremely knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Libby was a fabulous driver/guide. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The bus was very comfortable. As with a lot of these types of tours where you’re governed by time constraints, most of the stops were unfortunately very rushed. We would have liked to have spent more time at the Adelaide River Inn. Found it very interesting and we enjoyed the great atmosphere. Lunch was pretty ordinary with not a lot of choices.
