First of all, the staff was very friendly. Christie did the paperwork and Michael did the tour. Both were very friendly and knowledgeable. The boats…average at best. The boats are small, cramped, and underpowered. They ride ok, but if you are a regular boater and have your own boat, you will be disappointed. The tour…single file and all stay together. I get it, you don’t want people venturing all over but when you are driving across the flats and everyone has to stay in line and all follow at the same speed, what the heck. We drove through a few mangroves then went to a beach area with trash and an old base from a fish cooker laying on the bank. We beached there and Michael said we could snorkel along the mangroves if we wanted. Didn’t look like a completely safe place to just head out and snorkel here. We decided to stay and swim, but that wasn’t good either. Once you went out past knee deep water and put your you feet down, it became a deep muddy bottom. Once you stirred up the bottom walking in it, the smell was so bad of rotten seaweed (as our tour guide said), you couldn’t swim there. We requested to go to a sandbar instead and he politely took us to one. It was ok as there was nobody else around. If you have ever been to the sandbar at Islamorada, this was no comparison as Islamorada is spectacular. The drive back was nothing more than a ride back across the flats. We even made 2 ridiculous giant circles in the boats on the way back to take up a little time so we didn’t get back to early. Again, Michael was great, but if it was me, I would pick a tour where you ride on a boat with a guide and you can sit back, have a few drinks, and enjoy.

We had a great time with Bridget. The mini speedboats were so much fun. My husband had so much fun driving them. It was a small group only 3 other boats which made it really nice. We did have to stop several times during the trip so Bridget could help some people who weren’t that familiar with driving a boat but that was to be expected. She took us to Mud Keys and through some back country. We weren’t able to see too many marine life when snorkeling but that was likely due to the effects from the Hurricane. Overall we would go again and bring friends with us.

We loved this special experience in the Keys! Bridgette was an excellent guide and managed to find some secluded areas for us to snorkel on a busy day. This is NOT a tour in the sense that no one is trying to talk over the boat engines to teach you anything about the ecosystem. You are in a private, 2 seat boat separated by 3 boat lengths and the noise of the engines- it would be impossible to have narration during this experience. It is a tour that allows an experienced boater to navigate you through difficult/shallow waters and see the beautiful scenery. Bridgette was very knowledgeable about the types of wildlife we would be able to see in the areas we snorkeled. Highly recommend and would definitely do it again.

I really recommend this tour. We leave on time and we got enough to enjoy the boat ride and ocean. Michael our guide was so fun and knowledgeable.

The guide Brian was great and very helpful. The boat ride out and back to the dock was a lot of fun. The problem was the snorkeling was very poor. Little time to snorkel and the area, we went to for snorkeling was crowded and just bad for what I expected for Ket West snorkeling. This was very disappointing.

Needs to upgrade the experience. Paid for an eco tour and snorkel trip. Nothing but an hour and a half boat trip. Nice guide and all, woods have been nice to provide water given the heat. Perhaps pass along some facts about the keys and the ecology of the mangroves.

We had an amazing time on the Safari Eco Tour! My husband had a blast driving the boat, and the ride for me was so fun!!! Brian was our guide, and he was awesome! He made sure we got an adrenaline rush doing turns and donuts. He took us to a beautiful sandbar near some mangroves to do a little snorkeling or just hanging out. Not a lot of fish to see in that area, but the scenery was stunning and it was fun to just hang out for a bit before we went back. I highly recommend this tour!!!!!!
