You could be forgiven for thinking you might be walking in to see one old plane in a hangar and that at $25 it would be overpriced. But honestly, you will be amazed. Really classy exhibits, some earthbound and others ranged in the space above. A museum with a difference, more like stepping back in time. Blenheim is famous for other things, but you will be glad you took some time (an hour at least) to wander through and check this out. My wife loved it, and she's not generally a fan of this type of thing. Dress warm if you go in winter. And maybe skip the cafe. There's better ones in town.

Fabulous private tour with Rachel today - so much background information and knowledge enhanced the tour. Fabulous displays - well done

This aviation centre is a fabulous place to visit, I would strongly recommend doing both of the exhibits. There is so much to see,the aircrafts are fascinating as are all the artefacts. Small cafe and gift shop on site and the ability to take a scenic flight. Well worth a visit.

All the planes were lovingly restored and we felt like we had stepped back in time. For any aviation enthusiast this is a collection you'll never see anywhere else.

Being an ex RNZAF technician this is one hell of an exhibition. The realism is fantastic. The exhibition information just the right amount. (so many museums flood you with info)

I have really struggled thinking about whether I should review this place or not but in the interests of making the experience better for the future I will give my views in the spirit they are intended. I don’t want to cause any upset with this review but I strongly feel that our experience was ruined and we were very disappointed. First off. This is a standout amazing place with fabulous displays of World War I and World War II aircraft. We were planning to spend several hours here quietly moving through the displays chatting and enjoying the experience. however we were repeatedly interrupted on our trip by an elderly volunteer tour guide who could not take a hint to just let us be or read the situation to simply leave us alone. I have enough empathy to understand that this is a social outlet for this gentleman to mix with people and give something back to the community as a volunteer, however we couldn’t help feeling put upon, trapped on a tour we didn’t ask for, and some of the statements he made where quite frankly insensitive , rude and Made us both quite angry. Eventually we had to make an excuse and leave The museum entirely to get away. Thus we only spent around 20 mins there, and missed so much of the experience that we were Really looking forward to spending the day enjoying. So perhaps some training could be provided to this volunteer so the visitor experience can be improved and folks like us don’t have to leave early to avoid . 1. If people haven’t booked a tour, perhaps assume that they don’t want one, so pls Just leave them to simply enjoy it in their own way. 2. Your political views are yours alone and your opinions on other cultures should be kept to yourself. Demonstrating ignorance of other nations culture and history is offensive and makes you look foolish and uninformed. 3. Perhaps offer to answer any questions guests may have and leave it at that, and step away until you are asked for. I hope this feedback is taken in the positive future looking focus in which it is intended. The facility itself is fantastic and clearly many people love their experiences there, however sadly for us this was not the case. It might be nice to come back again another time in the future. We send our best wishes to all of the staff who work hard there every day and really care about the guest experience. All the best for the future, we wish you well.

We have been meaning to visit the museum for some time and wished we had gone earlier, it exceeded our expectations. It was fantastic, really informative and some amazing displays and memorabilia. The people figures were so lifelike. We chatted to the security guard as he did his rounds and he was very informative also. We would highly recommend this exhibition to anyone.

We walked in and were truly speechless. One of the best museums we've ever toured (and we've toured A LOT of museums.) The collection of WWI airplanes is magnificent, but Sir Peter Jackson has gone above and beyond with wonderful costumed figures that capture moments in history. The cases are filled with incredible one-of-a-kind artifacts from the countries that had an air presence. The Red Baron display is haunting, and the fact that he has a section of the Baron's plane blew us away. I come from a family of a s (my uncle was a Flying Tiger) and my father flew cargo and troops to Europe, while another uncle built planes, so it's understandable why I loved the museum. But my husband was just as besotted with it as I was. Truly incredible - cannot praise it enough! Be sure to watch the continuous loop film of actual footage. There's also a small gift shop with snacks and drinks. Also be sure to see the WWII museum behind this one.

Pleasantly surprised by this visit. I am no plane buff, but found this really interesting. Well organised displays. Excellent and enthusiastic guide for our tour. Definitely recommend this tour.

Excellent aviation museum that any city would be proud of let alone a tiny city like Blenheim. The guides inside the museum were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they were part of. Well done Blenheim and Mr Jackson.
