Disorganized-hard to find boat at dock-did not have current passenger list (wrong day)-had to wait on two other passengers who got on wrong boat. Six passengers and five rods- did not enjoy being berated by deckhand because I am used to a different style rod-he jumped on a client for touching a rod at the wrong time and used some pretty salty language for the Captain who caused a fish to be lost. Boat in poor mechanical condition and not clean-. Not an experience fisherman in that part of ocean but I basically understand fish behaviors-felt like I was being trolled.

Bite Me NOT! 6 paid customers, 5 poles and ZERO bites for charter starting at 6:30am in Kona. Went to Costco afterwards and found out you can purchase the charter there for $100 and not the $145 that they charge online. Pretty disappointed. We did not see any Fish life as well. You can see more fish/ turtles from the shore.

It was a 4 hour zig-zag off the coast of Kailua-Kona. No food and beverage so bring your own. There will be 6 guests and if you are lucky one "hit" on the five rods loaded only with a lure (no bait). Once there is a fish on a hook, the Captain will designate one person to reel in the fish so basically you are most likely to do nothing but watch and breath diesel fumes for 4 hours. Our one fish on the hook ended in disappointment with the fish ending up taking the entire reel of line out to sea. The line didn't break, but instead is just emptied the reel so that in the end there was an empty brass spool. I have deep sea fished in the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and now the Pacific, so call it an experience. Still liked the other passengers, the Captain and the mate. If you have lots of time in Hawaii, then probably worth the experience.

It was an expensive boat ride. We went out and watched the captain and his assistant catch mackerel for about a half an hour which were supposed to be what we would fish with. Then they rigged up 5 poles and trolled around for 3 and 1/2 hours with no success. They didn't even use the mackerel that they wasted our time catching. We never got to hold a fishing pole except for the demonstration at the first. They should have let us catch the mackerel or given us more time on the boat. For me and my kids it was a complete flop.

Captain Chad, and Captain Sandy, an absolutely amazing father and son duo, extremely knowledgeable with over 30 years of fishing and boating experience. These guys were by far the best crew I have ever been out fishing with. I have been deep sea fishing off both coasts of the mainland multiple times, none of those experiences even came close in comparison to this outing. I STRONGLY recommend you take a trip out on the bite me 1! Mahalo nui loa fellas

Went out for the half-day charter in Bite Me 3 with six customers. All you do is sit there while the mate sends out the lines and wait (after the crew spends the first hour fishing for bait fish). You are assigned a number and if a fish bites and it is your turn you get to reel it in. So on a perfect day you would catch six fish. But the mate said “if we get one bite a day, that’s a good day.” So you will most likely be paying $130 to sit there and do nothing. I went “fishing” but didn't touch a reel. Total waste.

We liked the boat and the crew but were very disappointed in the 4 hour didn't see a fish or get to throw out a line or nothing. The lady crew member was very knowledgeable but after a bit you just want to fish and we didn't get to do that so wasn't overly impressed. It just seemed a very expensive boat trip for nothing.

Great experience, we were able to hook two Marlins on the excursion. Caught one, one was lucky enough to get away after a exhausting fight. Experience of a lifetime. Captain Chad and crew were great.

My son, father in law and I took the 4 hour sport fishing charter with Bite Me 1 fishing charter. Captain Chad and his father Sandy were knowledgeable, and friendly. We were shown how to get up to the helm, but weight and gravity kept me on the boats floor. Fishing is a 50/50 shot and we were the lesser 50. Did have couple bites, but nothing struck. Which is not the crews fault. Had a great time out. Even though we didnt catch anything. Thank you Capt Chad and Sandy.
