Great driver and travel guide! He needs promotion! I would sign up with him as a guide again! Give him a raise!
Konopiste Castle - bad! As English speaking person, the tour I went through the castle with was with a Czech speaking tour guide with 30 Czech people, one of which spent 100 of his time listening to music on his phone and texting. He forced his way to the front of the line each time we went into a different room. Our audio guide lasted 1/3 of the time of the Czech live guide. If you enjoy stuffed animals, guns, and a tour guide who cannot answer your questions, this may be the tour for you if you understand Czech and enjoy being locked in rooms and the guide cannot answer English questions. GET OFF YOUR PHONE or DONT GO ON TOURS!!!.
What I found EXTREMELY offensive was the bear that the castle kept in a walled pit probably 30 by 20 feet. The poor thing had limited shade, and what looked like a plastic pool filled with water. Had this been in the United Stated, the SPCA would have shut the offensive display years ago.
A wonderful day out in the countryside and a beautiful castle to visit.Inside the castle is a fascinating look at life, weapons and the every day things that were used to make life comfortable. The grounds are also worth a look. Great day
magical place and history
The guide was very pleasanty and knowledgeable... The tours inside the castle with English recorded commentary were quite interesting
This tour didnt happen, as I was the only person, I believe. The email informing me was apparently sent to the wrong emIl id! I kept wIting for a pickup. Had I not called, I would have lost my money! I was offered a trip to Kutna Hora instead.
Was supposed to get an english speaking tour guide. Received a spanish speaking tour guide instead and had too use audio headphones. It was very annoying and hard to hear over the voice of the tour guide speaking spanish. I felt like I did not get what I paid for. The castle itself is fantastic, but again, could not enjoy with the way I was forced to go on a tour with someone who did not speak english. I could not ask any questions.
Also, the driver who was supposed to take us had a problem or something, so we ended up waiting while they got a new driver to come pick us up and drive us there. He did not speak English either and was not friendly.
This was an enjoyable trip. It was a short bus ride to the castle from Prague and it was an interesting visit. Between the St. George collection to the shooting gallery to the castle itself, it was fascinating. There were even animals on the grounds, including a bear, birds and a monkey for hire to take pictures. My only complaint was that our guide ditched us at the castle tour and we were put in a Czech only group with audioguides in English. When our commentary finished, we could not go ahead or linger at times because the guide had to unlock each door. We had to stand there listening to the guide speaking in Czech which sounded more robust than our audioguide.
The half-day tour to Konopiste Castle was simply fabulous! We had a small group and a very knowledgeable guide. She showed us not only the famous trophy hall featured in the film, The Illusionist, but also Archduke Franz Ferdinand's collection of St. George icons and statuary, as well as his private shooting gallery. It is well worth the trip to see this marvelous Bohemian castle!
Very good tour. It was a small group tour with 6 of us plus the driver and his wife. We had a really good time. The guide took his time, we weren't rushed and the information provided about the Czech Republic and the castle was awesome. I would recommend the tour.
Waste of time and money, I won't suggested to anybody
