Know More about this tour
You will be picked from your hotel (or pick up point) in Dubrovnik and then enjoy the tour in a new Mercedes, air-conditioned minibus with an English/Spanish speaking guide. Once you arrive at the Croatian-Montenegro border, you will need to be sure you have your passport with you.
Once you cross the border, enjoy a panoramic drive around the Bay of kotor. Boka Kotorska will fascinate you. It looks as if the mountains have cracked and let the sea in. This is the southernmost fjord in Europe. The bay is all natural. Admire its beautiful small towns as treasuries of history, art, and beauty, that are strung like pearls on its coastline.
Your next stop is Perast, the ancient village. It is rich in Venice-like architecture which includes sixteen Baroque palaces, seventeen Catholic churches, several important Orthodox structures, and a series of nine defensive towers. The highlights are twin islands of St George and Our lady of the rocks. Both are religious pilgrimage sites. This tour includes a boat ride to Our lady of the rocks, which was artificially created in the 15th century around a rock where an image of the Madonna was found. Every year on July 22, the locals row over with stones to continue the task.
You will arrive in Kotor around noon. Kotor is located in a dramatic and secluded Mediterranean Bay (at the head of southern Europe's deepest fjord), and it is one of Montenegro's most picturesque cities. For centuries, it has been a crossroads of commercial roads under the strong influence of Venice. It is protected by mountains with a strong defense structure built during the time of Byzantine Empire. You can start wandering through Stari Grad (Old town) and exploring its cobbled lane ways and atmospheric squares. Visit St. Tryphon Cathedral. The Old town is included in UNESCO Natural and Cultural list. You will have 2 hours free time to experience the allure of this beautiful town.

Thus was a really great day. The scenery was incredible. As a photographer I kept wanting to say Stop! Perast is beautiful and a little more time there would be lovely. Our Lady's island was crowded and I didn't get inside (I was happy taking photos of the stutting landscapes though!) I would love to see Kotor less crowded but there were 2 cruise ships in port. I saw this as a taster and I'll be back! Great guides.
By far the most disappointing tour of our trip. We were the first to be picked up and drove on the bus for 1 1/2 hours picking up passengers. Finally on our way, held up at the border for 1 hour 45 minutes. When we finally got to see the Lady of the Rock our guide tells us we have 15 minutes because the island was full. No options. The other tour guides were getting their groups into the chapel, but ours didn’t even try. This was our main interest and we were not even given the chance to try, Our visit to Kotor was ok . On the way back the same delay at the border. Our guide did not make one stop on the return trip; it was obvious she wanted to get back in a hurry. A little girl was forced to relieve herself in the bushes on the side of the road. In my opinion the worst planned tour.
A day trip from Dubrovnik.A straight forward drive and not much of a delay at customs both ways. Beautiful scenery en-route.The bay of Kotor is stunning with a must visit to Lady of the Rock. A full day is required to see the sights in Kotor.
The 2 cities we visited were stunning and the boat ride to the island is something you definitely need to do. The tour guide was nothing special though and i was a little bummed that in Kotor city there was no group tour explaining the area. She just left us and told us to meet back at the bus...I was expecting a walking tour :(
But overall everything went smoothly and we were very happy.
My husband and I went on this day trip to Montenegro 8/3/19. The good - our guide, Rosa, was engaging and informative. The drive was lovely, and the border crossings were not bad at all. From the other reviews we read, we were expecting to be delayed at the borders pretty significantly, but it was no problem for our tour. We loved Perast - in fact, we really would have liked some more time there. We only had 20 minutes at Lady of the Rock, and there were so many interesting things to see. The boat ride from Perast to Kotor was fun, but honestly, we could have done without visiting Kotor. It was nice, but very touristy, and we didn't need the two and half hours we were given to walk around. Our overall feeling - if you have more than one extra day in Dubrovnik, and haven't visited Montenegro before, it's a good trip. But we had a short vacation as it was, and I think we would have preferred an extra day in Dubrovnik.
very good day trip guide petra very professional and informaltive plus our driver aswell would recommend this trip
The guides were knowledgeable especially the local guide in Montenegro. There is so much to see and timw is well allocated
I loved my day trip to Montenegro. This tiny country with only 600,000 people are a powerhouse. They have also managed to make its official currency the Euro and it's not in the EU.
I learnt a lot about the history of Montenegro from our Tour Guides, one from Croatia and a local lady from Montenegro. They were both super informative, friendly and professional. Our driver was excellent too. He took a short cut, so we went to the new immigration and it was extremely quick. Everything was perfect about this tour and I fully recommend it.
We had a lovely experience full of history and new knowledge.
Our guide Tiana and driver were excellent.
It was very well organised. We totally recommend it.
We took this day trip a couple of weeks ago; our guide was Teanna. While the views were excellent, and the bus and boat facilities were very good, Teanna made this one of the best trips I have taken through Viator. She was knowledgeable, funny and entertaining, knowing exactly how much to share with us; not speaking too much or too little. If you're visiting Dubrovnik for a few days, this is a must-do!
