Know More about this tour

Situated in the center of Dalmatia, Krka National Park is a spacious, largely unchanged region covering an area of just over 142 square kilometers. The Skradinski Buk waterfalls, one of the most beautiful in Europe, are located within the park. Krka National Park is named after the Krka River, two thirds of which runs through it. Departing from Dubrovnik, the private trip begins along the beautiful Adriatic coast until reaching the highway and stopping at Bacina Lakes to enjoy the view, and later stopping for lunch. After enjoying lunch at a traditional restaurant, the drive continues to Lozovac. After arriving to Lozovac, the entrance to National Park Krka, the journey continues with the Skradinski Buk waterfalls, accompanied by a private guide (optional). There will be small houses and watermills to see during a pleasant walk through this magnificent stretch of untouched nature. Transformed into small museums, examine several exhibits before continuing on delightful boat ride towards the islet of Visovac. After visiting a museum and monastery on the island, it is time to depart back to Dubrovnik with an optional detour to Ston to enjoy in a delicious seafood dinner before concluding the trip.

Although your driver will not be accompanying you beyond the vehicle, he will act as a guide during the driving portion of your tour, and will be waiting until you are finished exploring at the destination.

It is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Dubrovnik to Krka National Park, through Bosnia and Herzegovina. Once there, you ride a boat across the waterway into the park area, debark and then walk the trails to see myriades of waterfalls. We were there during a massive heat wave and, since it had not rained in a very long time, the decrease in the water levels was quite evident, but still spectacular. I recommend bringing a bathing suit because you can swim in many parts of the park where the waterfalls are. It was very crowded June, July and August are always that way, they told us, with thousands of people/families. Lots of steps may be a challenge for some folks, so just keep that in mind. We left Dubrovnik at 7am with a very nice driver in a luxury vehicle, and then we were in the care of a private guide all through the park for about 3 hours, including a stop at the end for lunch. We arrived back in Dubrovnik around 6pm. I think it was a great day out.
