Know More about this tour

After morning pickup from your Sydney hotel, head north across Sydney Harbour Bridge to reach Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, located just 45 minutes drive from central Sydney. Your guide points out the landmarks you pass on the way to your first stop, West Head lookout.

From the lookout, take in incredible views of Broken Bay, Pittwater and the historic sandstone lighthouse on Barrenjoey Headland. Gazing across Broken Bay, see the beaches of the central coast and Lion Island, which shelters the largest population of little penguins in the Sydney area. Hear stories about shipwrecks, pirates, smugglers, escaped convicts and the park’s importance during World War II.

You'll also meet with a guide who provides interpretation of Aboriginal customs and Dreamtime stories. Learn about the Guringai people who originally lived in this area during a guided tour of a remote Aboriginal heritage site, which holds some of the most important rock carvings in Australia.

Continue to Akuna Bay where you board a 50-foot catamaran for a 3-hour cruise through the park's remote waterways. Your guide shows you exotic birds and marine life, Aboriginal heritage sites that are only visible from the water and one of Sydney’s most inaccessible waterfalls. Enjoy a 1-hour on-board cultural presentation, partake in hands-on demonstrations of the didgeridoo, spears, woomera (spear-throwing device), fire making and other Aboriginal skills.

For lunch, enjoy typical Australian fare that features bush tucker flavors. Your tour also offers morning and afternoon tea and samples of favorite Aussie snacks.

At the end of an exhilarating full-day tour, your guide returns you to your hotel.

  • Excellent tour

  • This was a very interesting tour. The tour guide really knew his stuff and was passionate about everything we saw on the tour.

  • This gem of a day trip is not to be missed. This National Park is hidden gem offering a peek into the country's aboriginal heritage. A knowledge and friendly crew. It is worth the time to put this experience on your itinerary. We included our 13 and 11 years old kids and they were engaged throughout the day.

  • A very interesting tour! Loved every minute of it.

  • since my daughter and i were only going to sydney she was on a business trip and i tagged along but we wanted to see some of the less developed areas, a friend of mine from australia recommended that we visit ku-ring-gai. and we were not disappointed. the tour was small only about 15 and our guide was fantastic. we left sydney and in about an hour, we were in the park. we started out on a boat cruising the river and saw aboriginal rock drawings and had lunch that was a kangaroo burger, beef burger and a chicken wrap. the scenery was beautiful. after the boat cruise we took the van to an area that is an aboriginal meeting area where we saw more rock carvings and some interesting rock structures. really enjoyed this tour.

  • We enjoyed the tour immensely. Pauls easy-going demeanor, Brians expert driving and Lukes navigation of the waters helped make the tour a very pleasant one. Paul was an excellent tour guide. His unhurried pace and expert explanation of what were seeing and observing was welcomed. We also like the fact that Paul continues to work with the aboriginal people solidify trust and to allow continued visits to their sacred grounds. Ill definitely recommend the tour to my friends and family. Thank You for a wonderful tour.

  • This was one of the best tours I have ever been on! Absolutely breathtaking scenery, amazing tour guides - Paul and his partner - and just an experience we'll never forget. All the details were worked out perfectly.

  • Excellent! Paul and Brian were great hosts! Perfect blend of natural beauty, culture, serenity great juice and coffee between sites on the boat, good conversation and laughs! all at the right pace. Have been on other tours where you feel rushed at some locations and wishing there was less time dedicated to others. This was perfect, and so close to Sydney! So Glad I picked this tour!
