Know More about this tour

After morning hotel pickup in a plush air-conditioned van, travel past the mountains, plains and coastal dunes of Baja California Surs desert. During the ride, eat up the breakfast snacks (usuallya freshly prepared sandwich, fruit, and juice) provided by your friendly guide. With the vigorous activity that lies ahead, youll appreciate the energy boost.

Upon arrival in La Paz, get dressed in a wetsuit and equipped with snorkeling gear for a boat ride out to the Sea of Cortez, where whale sharks gather fromOctober to April. As the boat heads out, your guide shares informative facts about whale sharks and what to expect during the outing. About the size of a yellow school bus, the whale shark is considered the largest fish in the sea at 40-feet-long (12 meters).

Lucky for you, these gentle giants are filter feeders and prefer to dine on plankton. Your captain with find a spot teeming with the tiny organisms, making the chances that you'll spy the telltale white spots of a whale shark that much greater. Once you see one, slip on your snorkeling mask and fins, and leap from the boat.

In that moment, come face-to-face with one of the underwater giants. Marvel at the whale sharks grace and how it angles its yawning mouth near the waterline to feed, while the rest of its body remains tilted downward. Attempt to sneak a peek of whale shark's white belly as it lumbers along; you'll have to swim at an earnest pace to keep up. While it might be tempting to touch the sleek creature, be sure to keep your hands to yourself at all times.

Climb back aboard for a break, as your boat captain navigates to other viewing locations. Along the way, you may see schools of manta rays, dolphins and maybe even humpback whales.

Afterward your guide takes to the Malecn, the waterfront boardwalk of La Paz, where youll dig into scrumptious Baja-style tacos and cold nonalcoholic beverages as well as tequila and beer. Refueled, take a stroll and explore beachside shopping, or just relax at one of the Malecn's tiny beaches.

Then head to the small desert town of Todos Santos in the Sierra de Laguna foothills and arrive at popular Hotel California. Stay long enough and you may hear the Eagles classic hit of the same name emanating from the lobby. Go ahead and check off several items from your bucket list as you're transported back to your hotel.

  • One of the best experience of my life

  • Nothing like the photos. I love an adventure and understand that weather and animals don't always cooperate but this was not anything like I expected. Water was murky, very difficult to see. You are expected to swim after the sharks-good luck. Guide lied about photos when I asked if I was in any of them. I was not in any underwater photos and the last photo i paid 50 on flashdrive included one of the guide Aaron and his buddy giving the finger to anyone.

  • A must do tour!! We departed from Cabo in a large group and then once in La Paz, we divided into smaller groups, allowing 6-8 people per small boat captain. Each of the boats swam with multiple whale sharks --- up so close you could have touched them. Such docile giants --- a once in a life time experience!!

  • This all day trip was all we had hoped for! Breakfast sandwiches were very nice. We were fortunate to volunteer to be on the boat with Aaron little brother which was only six of us. Aaron was extremely helpful and made sure everyone had a good view of the whale sharks, even my friend who was slow and tentative getting in the water. Four of us were able to get in and swim at least five different times, including with a 30-32 foot whale shark. Lunch was fish tacos and I went back for seconds.

  • This was a great tour. The guides were very organized and super friendly. They took us right to the Whale Sharks and we had a number of close interactions that were just amazing. The lunch was very good and we had lots of fun stopping at the Hotel California.

My only negative is that there are a number of jellyfish swarms where I got badly stung and I had a really bad allergic reaction. It has been a week since the tour and I still look like I am covered in chickenpox. To be safe, you would want to wear a full wetsuit and make sure that there is some vinegar on hand to rinse you off if you get stung!

  • This tour was awesome! Eric was super knowledge and friendly as our guide! Would recommend this to anyone visiting los cabos :)

  • Our trip from Los Cabos to La Paz to swim with the whale sharks was excellent! There were only 3 whale sharks to be seen during our tour, but they allowed us to swim with and observe them lazily swimming through the clear sea water. This trip was on my bucket list and I am so very glad I got to do it! Leo was our tour guide on the two hour ride from Cabo to La Paz, and Mario was our guide on the boat with the whale sharks. He was very patient and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this tour!!!

  • The excursion was amazing and exceeded our expectations. The new Mercedes Van and the food on the trip to La Paz were excellent. We loved our guide Alex, he was very knowledgeable and very engaging. We spotted many whale sharks and were able to have several up close encounters both in the water and in the boat. The lunch afterwards was great, especially the fish tacos. The excursion was well worth the money, we highly recommend it.

  • this was an awesome adventure. staff was great a lifetime experience. our guide Yann was AWESOME ask for him. he was super friendly informative great attitude and the girls wont mind looking at him. he was helping people taking pictures checking on people making video, like a one armed wallpaper hanger. We saw a whale, 15 plus whale sharks and a mother baby dolphin. doesnt get much better than that. bring a change of clothes

  • WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I've swum with whale sharks in the Sea of Cortez!! A lifelong dream was fulfilled on this tour. Our guide, Oliver, was a lot of fun and this day was very enjoyable from start to finish - including a really nice lunch. Still can't believe we've done it and I would DEFINITELY recommend this trip. Thanks, Oliver!
