Itinerary:
The Ultimate Scenic Half-Day TourAfter morning pick-up, your four- to five-hour tour begins at a beautiful Tahoe beach shadowed by the peak of Mt. Tallac. This area is also a wildlife sanctuary and you will be able to photograph many species of local birds, other mammals and possibly even bears.
In late Spring and Summer, wild flowers fill the beautiful meadow that lines the shores of Taylor Creek. In the foreground, Mt. Tallac watches over its many wildlife inhabitants. As the mountains and lakes beckon, continue back country lakes and beyond to spectacular waterfalls. Climb to an elevation of 8,800 feet to a high country ridge line with amazing views of Fallen Leaf, Lake Tahoe, and the Glaciers. Stop at local quaint stores that serve snacks and beverages.
Move on to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. You will be taken to special spots where the allure, beauty and photographic opportunities are timeless. These areas are priceless and offer a great vantage point to cultivate your imagery. More beautiful waterfalls await, as you explore the natural beauty of this glacier carved masterpiece from many different spectrums.
The Grand Tahoe Full-Day Around The Lake Tour
This comprehensive seven- to eight-hour tour of Lake Tahoe centers on the 'Seventy-Two Mile Drive', known as "America's Most Beautiful Drive"! You'll be driven to the south shore of Lake Tahoe for your first glimpse of this stunning natural wonder nestled amongst the rugged peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The mountainous scenery unfolds to a beautiful Tahoe Beach at the base of Mt. Tallac and what lies ahead are back country lakes and waterfalls.
Your guide will show you Tahoe's very best areas to discover wonderful wildlife, colorful wildflowers, spectacular cascading waterfalls, breathtaking landscapes, high country lakes and magnificent mountain views. Marvel at stunning 360-degree views of Emerald Bay, one of the most photographed spots in the world and the site of Lake Tahoe's only island.
Continuing northward down the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, see beaches with aquamarine colors and crystals clear waters and the filming location of Godfather 2, then enjoy a delicious lunch.
Drive onward to prestigious Incline Village, where you will climb a 9,800 foot pass to a lookout point that offers you unparalleled views of all of Lake Tahoe. As we continue through Incline Village, you'll see where "Bonanza", the famous Western television show was filmed. The trip was very well organised. Jim was really kind in giving us time to take photos. The photography tips were really helpful. Since it is a photography tour, i wish the trip starts much earlier, may be by 7AM so that we can get better photos.
-
Jim was the best tour guide! Jim's love of photography and his history knowledge of Lake Tahoe did not disappoint! If you want a tour guide to give you tips of how to take those beautiful photos, Jim is the guy to do it. Thank you Jim!

We had such a great time and saw places we never would have discovered all on our own!

Tom, our guide arrived right on time. I'm glad we got a guide because I would not have found the sights in my allotted time. The weather was perfect allowing us to get great shots of Lake Tahoe, waterfalls and mountains. Tom has a wealth of knowledge about the history of Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend Lake Tahoe Photographic Tours. Be sure to ask for Tom.

Keith went above and beyond. We saw all of Lake Tahoe in one day. Thanks for a great tour!

Outstanding outing! We were in the Lake Tahoe area for a wedding and wanted to see and photograph some of the scenery. Max, our driver and photographer, grew up in the area and not only knew the back roads to beautiful scenery but also the best placement to capture a GREAT image. As a plus, Max took a number of photos of my wife and I with some of the breath taking views as a backdrop.
My wife, did not bring a camera on the tour but enjoyed the views and outing as much as I did.
I highly recommend this tour! Ask for Max!

I highly recommend the photography tour. Max was our tour guide and he was awesome. He took us to places we NEVER would have found if we did it on our own and then gave us tips on what settings to use on our cameras to get some beautiful pictures. Max was very knowledgeable about the Lake Tahoe area. We were able to go to several different locations: Emerald Bay, Fallen leaf, the ridge and the 3 Homesteads along the beach which all made for beautiful pictures that Lake Tahoe has to offer. Plus it was a good thing he was driving as I am not sure we would have been comfortable driving on some of the narrow crowded roads. He was even able to avoid traffic given he knew the backroads. Keith is the owner and he was very easy to work with. I would do this tour again if I ever get back to Tahoe. Money well spent!!!!
-
The tour was more of a photo shoot vs. a photography lesson. The locations were beautiful but I wasn't expecting to have my picture taken. If that's what you're looking for- the locations will provide some beautiful background. I would suggest that when the photographs are forwarded, you might delete those where eyes are closed, etc. it certainly was a good way to see the sights in a concentrated 1/2 day.

Where to find the most scenic places in Lake Tahoe? My wife and I were picked up in the morning by Tom, who was our guide for the day. We visited exceptionally beautiful places throughout the day and captured these images. Tom took the time to share the history of Lake Tahoe and what life is like in this community. Tom, not only took us to many memorable spots on the lake, but also shared where to capture the sunsets, where to find the Aspens exploding with color, and other beautiful locations we didn't have time to visit. What an exceptional day!
