I usually don't write reviews but I would like to leave a review so that people would be aware of our experience.
The only reason that I considered this company tour over others is because they mentioned that they would fly over las vegas in the description.Forget about flying over las vegas, we didn't even get a glimpse of the strip. They took us to a place called pahrump and we literally just flew over the houses there(the pilot is afraid of moving away as we might land in a remote place).
This experience was just so beautiful. I have suggested it to so many people. Our pilot was so nice and so professional his demeanor so pleasant.
My mom who is 83 and I took a balloon ride this December and both had a great time. We paid the 20.00 each for a round trip pick up from our hotel and back to the balloon location, which was worth the money we felt. I really don't like heights but this did not bother me to much. The pilot, who's name I don't remember, was great telling everything he did and gave such an air of confidence I felt completely safe. He explained where we were and pointed out different landmarks as well as states. Told how fast and high we were and was all around super. My favorite part was not being 12,000 ft up but being closer to the ground and seeing all the Jack Rabbits run and being able to identify things on the ground.
The only thing I feel that could be improved on is helping people in and out of the basket since there are only foot holes in the side of the basket for your toe to go in to climb the side. My mom who is very able bodied for her age really struggled to get in an at one point her leg and foot got stuck on the edge of the basket after her other leg was in. I had to push her leg and foot over the edge to completely get her in. They had asked if we needed help getting in and the young man just stood there not knowing how to really help her. I told him what to do but he was very hesitant and I understand why not knowing how to actually help. When getting out all three of the ladies in my moms corner struggled to get out being slightly overweight. So my thinking is they need to have a plan or train their employees how to really help people in and out of the basket regardless of their age if they need it. Maybe a small set of stairs to get in and instructions to get out.
But other than that it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely do it again with them. We were also given a Champagne toast when it was over and the pilot told the story of how this ritual got started in ballooning which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The pilot, Jeff, was knowledgeable and professional while also having a sense of humor. Safety was also stressed, so this was a fantastic first flight !!
Jeff is an expert balloon pilot and was extremely knowledgable and personable. We enjoyed his stories and hospitality. The rest of the crew was awesome as well. We even got extra flight time. The flight was calm and safe. We enjoyed every minute of it. And, we had a perfect landing!
Life changing trip. Firstly, the captain and total crew from start to finish look after you. Its an early start but worth it. Comfy transport to take off sight. Option to get stuck in and set balloon up with crew, note, do it!! Then an hours flight over an area of natural stunning beauty with a captain who talks you through all sorts. On landing, either get yourself stuck in packing the balloon away or wait for the champagne breakie after. The flight is amazing. Forget daily issues, you can't fail but to just be as one with your surroundings. Comfy ride to HQ and then look at your pics to remind you.
I thought the basket was going to move in the air and I was a little worried. But the ride was sooo smooth that I didn’t feel it. Was a unique experience and the pilot Jeff was great and has knowledge of what he was doing :)
Absolutely fantastic and so well organised from start to finish. Jeff was our pilot and he was very knowledgeable about Red rock Canyon. I was quite nervous about the flight as I’d never done one before, but he put me right at ease. It was a very early start and chilly in October so be prepared to layer your clothing to ensure a comfortable flight, they do tell you this on the booking confirmation, but some people were dressed inappropriately for the weather and activity which made for a less comfortable trip for them. We had the option of champagne, orange juice or mimosas after the flight which was a lovely touch. Everyone we came into contact on this trip was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend their company.
The whole crew was nice and the family enjoyed the balloon ride. The only thing was we did not see Las Vegas skyline or red rock canyon which I thought when I booked was what we were going to see. So I think they need change their description . It was very misleading on . The whole trip was 1 hour from Las Vegas in the town of Pahrump.
Shorter trip than expected in a very non picturesque area. Staff was friendly and competent. Red Rock area would have been a better choice
